Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, Ltd. Journeyman Product Designer in Boston, Massachusetts
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Product Designer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate (AFLCMC/HB). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Digital (AFPEO/HB) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Digital portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/PEO Digital Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.
The candidate shall provide Product Designer support to perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of product design to include but not be limited to agile and lean philosophies, user-centered design, design thinking, and leading user research.
This is a full time position located at Kessel Run, Boston, MA
Duties include, but not limited to:
Planning and leading user research, including user interviews and usability tests
Developing user personas, service blueprints, problem statements, and user flows
Practicing a highly efficient and iterative design process
Brainstorming and prototyping information architecture; including navigational solutions for flexible and dense layouts
Working within and embracing existing design systems, including User Interface (UI) component libraries, and style guidelines
Designing with an awareness and understanding of browser sizes, device capabilities, and product functionality
Delivering UI prototypes, mockups, and detailed design specifications
Understanding and designing with web standards and UI/User Experience (UX) best practices
Creating mockups with consideration of product lifecycle from requirements to prototypes to launch
Working closely with developers to ensure designs are built to specifications
Negotiating and articulating design decisions thoughtfully with an openness to feedback
Understanding and using team feedback to inform and improve designs
Performing other product design and documentation tasks as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level Clearance
Education: High School Diploma
Years’ experience: 7 years of directly related experience 5 of which must be in the DoD
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited educational program
Years’ experience: 3 years of professional experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed and must be within the DoD

Please note: Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
