Kforce has a client in search of a Lead Drupal Consultant in Boston, MA.Goals:

• The organization runs on the most current software (Drupal 9) and on a new host, resulting in better performance, flexibility, and stability; The host will be platform.sh

• Future enhancement prioritizes use of existing features and technical solutions provided by the underlying software over custom code

• Content moderation can be performed by end users, without requiring developer time

• The migration does not disrupt daily content changes, allows general maintenance to be performed in parallel, balances the need for implementing limited-scope enhancements, and is completed quickly

Objectives/Outcomes:

• Content editing responsibilities can be broadly shared

• Content types are more flexible, allowing for customized layouts

• Existing theme is more stable, responsive, and incorporates any newer/missed designs

• Notable improvements to stability, performance, maintainability

• Drupal is used for front end, with progressive decoupling for key functionality

• Codebase (including styling) isolated from unrelated elements, like digital signage

• Dates can be simulated, content scheduled, and messaging more centrally managed

• New implementation addresses key pain points (e.g., alert banners, daily schedule)

• Design implementation takes a mobile-first approach, with visual parity across devices

• Images are resized automatically, with ability to select focal point and cropping (potentially integrating with a DAM)

Priorities:

• Preparing for migration

• Developing new infrastructure, content model

• Rebuilding theme, emphasizing twig templates, sass styling, stressing Drupal over custom code, and missed OHO designs

• Integrating Made Media ticketing widgets and membership

• Building kiosks and digital signage in separate site(s)

• Testing

• Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript

• Proficiency with PHP

• Experience building upon a Drupal CMS

• Experience with Angular JS

• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks

• Demonstrated communication skills - ability to convey concepts in writing, verbally, and graphically

• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with proven experience in software development lifecycle including requirements collection, design, QA, implementation, and maintenance

• Ability to design and implement wireframes and design mockups into fully functional web components

• Demonstrated ability to self-manage time and resources

• Demonstrated experience in developing technical solutions both independently and in a team solving environment
