Allen & Gerritsen Mac Technologist / Systems Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Allen & Gerritsen is looking for someone with very strong attention to detail, who is excited to tackle new problems and loves supporting employees and making an impact in all aspects. The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct A&G’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Mac technology expert

  • Mac support through their whole lifecycle in a creative, corporate environment

  • IT Systems Administrator

  • Build and support the overall technology infrastructure

  • Familiar with JAMF Pro /JAMF Connect / JAMF ProtectManage subscriptions, contracts, vendors and budgets

  • Troubleshoot and solve issues with laptops, servers, and other systems

  • Train and help employees use internal systems and software

  • Research new technologies and implementation strategies

  • Provide and drive our policies around Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Risk Assessment

  • Manage our core technology stack

  • Create and maintain documentation

  • Leads development and implementation processes for the organizations IT systems and department.

  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.

  • Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.

  • Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.

  • Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.

  • Facilitate IT security audits

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

  • Coordinate multisite IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP).

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the A&G’s goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  • 5-10 years experience in the technology/ IT field

  • Deep Mac experience required

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Ability to solve problems creatively and independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
