Content Experience Manager, Platform

The Salesforce Platform continues to grow at a rapid pace, and so does the team of rockstar content creators who support it! We're looking for a new people leader to manage a team of talented and motivated writers to do the best work of their careers.

Us: We’re a great team of content producers who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and designers to create high-quality content that helps our customers. Content includes:

  • UI text that reflects Salesforce's voice and tone

  • User engagement that’s integrated into the product’s design

  • Videos and graphics

  • Help, user guides, and developer documentation

  • Interactive Trailhead modules and projects, and other innovative content formats

You: You're an excellent match if you’re self-directed, a problem solver, an excellent communicator, and passionate about technology. You'll be:

  • Inspiring, coaching, mentoring, and providing professional development for a team of writers

  • Partnering with other cross-functional managers to ensure the success of your product areas

  • Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new writers as the team grows

  • Leading or advising on efforts to improve our deliverables, processes, or other initiatives

  • Working with the overall Content & Communications Experience leadership team to determine direction and priorities for the team

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 2+ years documentation management experience

  • 6+ years of experience in technical writing

  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills

  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and team development skills

  • Sound judgment and strong decision making ability

  • Strong customer advocacy skills

  • Great organizational abilities

  • Cross-functional team experience and influence

  • Track record of improving existing styles, processes, and teams

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or communications field or equivalent experience

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Experience documenting SaaS applications or enterprise-class client/service software

  • Experience with source control software such as Perforce or ClearCase

  • Experience with authoring tools such as Oxygen, Arbortext Editor or Adobe FrameMaker

  • Experience with video and image editing software

  • Knowledge of DITA
