KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Independence, Training & Communication to join our Risk Management organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply a thorough understanding of the SEC, PCAOB and AICPA independence rules and regulations and incorporate in the creation, development and refinement of training curricula, firm policy practice aids/guides and other communications to field professionals

  • Define training and communications plans and manage roll-out of the plans, managing deadlines, expectations and often contributing to resource decisions and supervising the work performed by more junior staff and external vendors; provide feedback to junior staff and may also serve as a formal performance manager of record to one or two junior staff

  • Review information obtained from subject matter professionals, applying critical thinking and performing additional research, as necessary, to translate such information, which is often complex, into consumable content

  • Function as a technical writer and/or content developer, possessing an intermediate understanding of the impact of policy changes to Audit, Advisory or Tax engagement teams and clients; recommend enhancements to content and programs to improve service level and quality of guidance provided to Audit, Tax, or Advisory professionals that makes a meaningful impact

  • Support execution of tactical plans and strategic objectives; build credibility and successfully manage relationships across peer group, Independence Group leaders and other stakeholders from a myriad of KPMG functional groups, including Ethics and Compliance, KBS, firmwide corporate communications and other media and production related groups

  • Regularly interface with Independence Group workstream partners/managing directors and other subject matter professionals within the group regarding the development and execution of training content and other educational communications and to help drive desired outcomes for the Independence Group

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent experience with training and communications initiatives and programs preferably within a risk organization at a public accounting firm or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university

  • Ability to manage concurrent training and communications projects, applying expertise to make concrete decisions that impact the Risk organization

  • Must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high-performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork with strong verbal/written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority

  • Strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to participate in resource planning processes based on defined organizational plans
