WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Working as a member of the TSG Data & Analytics team, you will support Bain's expanding data and analytics capabilities, by helping to build, deliver, and manage Bain's internal Analytics Center of Expertise (COE). The Analytics COE has technical responsibility for the design, implementation, maintenance, and use of analytics tools, platforms, and services internally at Bain. The Analytics COE Manager is a Technical Product Owner role that will oversee the Analytics COE team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Be the primary point of contact for the Analytics COE

  • Develop a rapport with internal customers and create promoters for the Analytics COE at all levels of the organization

  • Prepare marketing materials to be used in conversations with prospective internal customers

  • Create awareness of different use cases for Bain’s analytics tools and platforms to help address internal customers’ key questions

  • Create case studies, reference stories, and facilitate demos on how internal customers have leveraged the Analytics COE to deliver tangible results

  • Demonstrate product expertise and explain the Analytics COE methodology to a non-technical audience

  • Understand and provide Point of View (POV) on alternative solutions during discussions

Define and evolve inventory of Analytics COE offerings

  • Demonstrate thought leadership to design the Analytics COE’s offerings, direction, and roadmap based on existing, anticipated, and potential long-term business need to enable insights generation

  • Learn about internal business priorities and needs and provide input to the multi-year roadmap for Bain’s analytics tools and platforms based on feedback and emerging use cases

  • Collaborate with business analysts, Bain Data Platform teams, and Analytics COE to ensure analytics tools and delivery platform meet business requirements

  • Make practical technology and process recommendations to advance individual product data analytics features and Bain’s data analytics approach overall

  • Lead the research and evaluation of new and emerging technologies and market trends, including best practices and toolsto augment Bain’s internal analytics capabilities and ecosystem

  • Leverage other internal domain expertise to extend and innovate analytics capabilities through collaboration with Bain’s Advanced Analytics and Next Generation Software groups

Manage operations and own the day-to-day relationship with analytics users

  • Ensure high levels of service for Analytics COE products and offerings, including measures to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability as foundational elements of the analytics platforms, tools, and processes 

  • Coordinate activities for the design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of Analytics platform and toolsworking with other members of the IT organization

  • Prepare scoping materials to facilitate high level design discussions with internal customers on data analytics needs

  • Provide conceptual and technical guidance to increase awareness and understanding of data analytics concepts

  • Lead content architecture discussions across multiple across platforms: operational, strategic, leadership reporting, while balancing analytics needs against security and performance requirements

  • Lead and/or coordinate product training sessions and support business functions teams with further training needs

  • Coordinate health monitoring for platforms and tools and proactively troubleshoot any potential issues that require detailed investigation

  • Coordinate assignment of software licenses and installation steps and management of user access and permissions for tools and platforms

  • Manage the annual renewal process, invoicing, contracting, collaborating closely with the Bain procurement team

Share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices

  • Identify, document, and share functionality and process best practices as key actions internal customers can leverage to achieve best-in-class results

  • Provide training, documentation and other assistance to software and business teams to expand the use of data and visualization tools and support data strategy initiatives

  • Drive consistency in approach through coordination with other internal reporting and analytics efforts

  • Coordinate with and leverage other advanced analytics groups within the organization to extend and innovate analytics capabilities

  • Establish awareness of data security policies and best practices in Analytics solutions, working with Data Platform teams, Security Operations team, and other teams

Inspire, coach, and manage members of the Analytics Center of Expertise (COE) team

  • Lead approach on delivery of enterprise analytics in collaboration with the Bain Data Platform teams and Analytics COE team

  • Manage Analytics COE team following Agile best practices

  • Drive prioritization of work items on the team’s backlog

  • Ensure work coming into the team is well defined

  • Conduct regular check-ins with team members

  • Ensure high quality of work produced by Analytics COE team

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of in-depth experience with Business Intelligence and/or Data Analysis

  • Experience translating data into business insights using modern analytics and visualization tools

  • Experience developing high quality presentations for targeted audiences

  • Track record of building strong customer relationships

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, complex technical projects
