Meta Manager, Program Management - Tooling in Boston, Massachusetts

This is a people manager opportunity within the Infrastructure Services and Operational Support (ISOS) team. The ISOS team consists of Program Managers who design, implement and continuously evolve the existing Operational Practices of Meta's data centers and networks. This team builds processes and tools to allow Meta to scale. This role will include direct management of a team of technical program managers who support Data Center Automation.

Required Skills:

  1. Stakeholder Alignment: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of strategy, goals, and priorities of our stakeholders and partners. Support development and execution of portfolio of work, at both program and workstream levels, with clear roadmaps, goals and priorities. Act as a bridge to align various Engineering and Data center teams towards common vision/goals.

  2. Portfolio Management: Identify opportunities for and empower end-to-end solutioning. Leverage comprehensive understanding of the ISOS portfolio and intersections of programs/workstreams to act as the “bridge” between the portfolio of work and the PMs to promote understanding of existing and desirable intersections across programs/workstreams. Empower PM-level awareness and action on opportunities for scale and operational excellence.

  3. Cross functional alignment: Support resolution of cross team risks, enable program intersections, integrated processes, and tooling goals.

  4. Team support: Manage a team of individual contributors that deliver on multiple projects or programs across regions or business groups. Facilitate stakeholder and team-level understanding of ISOS strategy, vision, and goals. Foster employee development by providing timely feedback, identifying and targeting growth opportunities based on individual interests/strengths as well as providing each team member with a customized support plan to maximize their success. Focus on growing and building a strong, productive, and satisfied team.

  5. Communication: Provide clear communication of ISOS organizational strategy and goals. Practice transparent, consistent, and open communications to stakeholders, partners, and team members.

  6. ISOS Brand: Extreme ownership and a bias towards intentional action.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience translating strategic initiatives into roadmaps, defining tooling, processes, operations and driving execution.

  2. 10+ years of overall Technical experience with 4+ years experience managing a team of Technical Program Managers.

  3. Experience collaborating with different individuals across the organization, within other geographies in order to accomplish all necessary tasks.

  4. Experience collecting and understanding business and technical requirements and translating needs into implementation plans.

  5. Experience with Software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in computer science or related field.

  2. Technical infrastructure management and/or Data Center experience.

  3. Web or Internet start-up environment experience.

  4. 8+ years experience managing a team of employees, including managing managers.

  5. Experience understanding application requirements and translating needs into implementation plans.
