Our Quality Risk Management team is a consultative team that includes client service facing risk management professionals and those who focus on risk management for internal teams. Our risk management professionals perform consultations and provide approvals (as required by risk management policies) related to client and engagement acceptance, support teams during the engagement delivery process, focus on troublesome practice matters and work to manage risk associated with firm and public communications.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills :

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts identifying and addressing client needs in the following:

  • Understanding business trends and practices as they relate to banking, wealth management, Fintech, and investment entities and familiarity with the applicable laws, regulators and professional standards for those industries;

  • Understanding of the deals continuum from diligence through post-closing integration inclusive of the risks associated with working with one or more parties involved in a transaction; and,

  • Understanding of the role of the consulting profession in either or both of those domains, including a high-level awareness of business needs and typical consulting responses. and a willingness and curiosity to learn and gain a proficiency with the other domain.

  • Identifying and analyzing complex business and related contracting and risk issues and providing appropriate advice regarding applicable contractual terms, consistent with industry practice and risk management policies, guidance and procedures on a time-sensitive basis;

  • Reviewing and enhancing risk documentation, including contracts, NDAs, access/release letters with a working knowledge of how professional services contracts both can create and mitigate risk;

  • Ability to work with contract specialists to translate risk mitigation approaches into the adjustment of legal documents;

  • Working in a multinational law firm, legal, business development, risk or procurement department advising on complex agreements in a consulting or corporate transaction environment, related to technical (e.g. systems) or non-technical consulting arrangements and associated legal documents (e.g. NDAs);

  • Awareness of transaction related issues relating to cutting edge technology products and services preferred;

  • Curious and client-focused approach - eager to learn new things, solve problems creatively, collaborating and working well with business people in a fast-paced and demanding environment;

  • Applying proven organizational skills and being detailed oriented;

  • Working independently and as part of a team while working with internal and external clients and stakeholders (such as the RCC) and escalating as necessary; and,

  • Building consensus even for difficult or unpopular courses of action necessitated by commercial, professional and risk/legal requirements.
