Your Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement embedded firmware or embedded software. Generate firmware description, flow chart and block diagram as required
Work with internal and external resources on design optimization
Plan and create effective test protocols to verify and validate engineering designs to product requirements
Support general software request from other departments
Support of returned product review including implementation of preventive or corrective actions
Uses a combination of logic, experience, analysis and methodologies to make solid, timely decisions and solve problems. Including but not limited to worst case analysis and DFMEAs
Bachelor’s Degree required, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Firmware Engineering preferred
Minimum 8 years of engineering / R&D experience in a rigorous quality-focused environment
Technical programming skills with C/C++ required
Proven leadership skills and the ability to work independently given high-level direction
Experience working on projects involving portable, low-power products incorporating wireless communication solutions such as Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, NFC, etc.
Superior debugging and/or troubleshooting skills
Proven ability to produce high quality design outputs in a timely manner
Excellent requirements, specification, test plan/report writing skills
Knowledge of product development methodologies and best practices
Knowledge of verification and validation testing methodologies
Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional and cross-organizational relationships
Programming: C/C++ (APIs – pthreads, OpenMP, CUDA, MPI, OpenCV, PCL), C#, Embedded C, MATLAB, Assembly language, Verilog, VHDL, basic Java and Python, LabVIEW
Software tools: Microsoft Visual Studio, Code Composer studio, Multisim, ModelSim, TopSPICE, OPNET IT Guru, IAR Embedded Workbench, Keil IDE, PSoC Creator IDE, OptiSystem, Eagle CAD
Microcontrollers and development boards: NVIDIA Jetson TX1, ARM Cortex M4, MSP430, Arduino, Cypress PSoC, Raspberry pi
Certification: NI Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer, from National Instruments preferred
Strong background working with IEC 62304
Medical device industry background preferred
Compliance experience, i.e. MDR, EU MDR, MDD
Experience with Class III or II medical devices highly preferred
