We are the Azure Developer Experience team. We deliver industry-leading cloud services and tools that empower developers across the globe to build, ship, and manage applications with the fastest code-to-cloud experience on the market, tying together Visual Studio, GitHub, and Azure. Our goal is to provide developers with the most advanced and productive application platform on the market, underpinned by Azure’s rock-solid foundation of global datacenters and the most integrated suite of developer tools in the world.

The Azure Developer Experience team is growing. The team is looking for an experienced Security Program Manager to engage across the Azure Security, Data and Identity teams to drive execution for Security and Compliance Fundamentals. The position will require identifying and working with key stakeholders across Azure to help understand various resource provider scenarios to ensure ownership is clear and current for all resources created by our engineering teams. Ultimately you will promote Security awareness, encourage a defensive mindset and ensure compliance requirements are met for every asset class. You will use your security background to help make Azure the most secure and reliable cloud on the planet. build-out management resources and processes used to provision, deploy, manage, monitor and update millions of VMs.

In this role, you will need to excel at contributing to cross functional v-teams by working closely with partners across Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Azure Security Engineering, Global Governance, MSRC and Azure Developer Experience engineering teams to ensure our products and services meet critical security and compliancerequirements.

  • Drive cross-functional security and compliance reviews using the Software Development Lifecycle (SDL) for new and existing products, features, and services.

  • Participate, manage, and lead large cybersecurityprojects across the complete Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Respond to customer, industry and government security requests for compliance and audit documentation needed to meet ongoing certification requirements.

  • Use data to understand and prioritize initiatives, measure current state, and track attainment of stated metrics.

  • Identify tooling, product, and process gaps to iteratively drive improvement back into the core product and reporting tools.

  • Investigate and resolve data and reporting discrepancies to ensure accuracy and alignment of detection principles and practices.

  • Conduct reviews and present progress reports to leadership

  • Execute and evolve the Azure Security Compliance strategy

  • Coordinate remediation of application security weaknesses

  • Promote security training and awareness within the organization

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years Program or Project Management, or Service Engineering experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the computer software industry or services industry with exposure to product development

  • 2+ years of experience managing security related projects across groups, divisions or teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess excellent cross group and interpersonal skills necessary to articulate the business needs and importance of our security deliverables with experience working with databases and big data analytics SQL or Kusto

  • Technical and business skills necessary to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to lead and motivate technical communities

  • Growth mindset with a desire to continually learn and apply new skills to a broad range of projects as you dig into complex problems and create solutions that scale to a large system and codebase

  • Knowledge and\or experience conducting security or compliance assessments

  • Knowledge of cloud security, threat modeling, incident response and recovery techniques

  • An understanding of enterprise scale technology and developing large scale out services

  • Proven track record of shipping secure, high-quality software through all phases of the product lifecycle in a high-volume or critical production environment

  • Education or experience in: Azure IaaS and\or PaaS; Monitoring Tools; Scripting; End-to-end service design; and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

  • Knowledge in Windows System Administration/Virtualization, Networking, Relational Database Design/Administration, Linux OSS Administration/ Networking, Development/Coding

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required
