We are the Azure Customer Experience (CXP) team- a fast growing Engineering team of customer obsessed & passionate individuals that drive positive customer outcomes and experiences.
FastTrack (FT) for Azure is a customer success service group who de-risk and accelerates Azure deployments at scale, while improving the platform. FT takes a solution-centric approach and provides customers with Engineering resources, best practices, tools and resources that drive Azure consumption.
We are looking for an experienced Principal FastTrack Engineering Manager who is ready to manage a team of Data Engineers and engage with strategic customers as they start their Azure journey toward POC, Dev, and Production deployment. Areas of responsibility include:
Leading a high performing team of Data Engineers as a manager, leader, coach and mentorHelping customers migrate and/or build workloads throughout their Azure journey toward production and expanding their cloud footprint on Azure.
Directly engage with customers to validate new solutions and POC's in directly supporting their Azure adoption plan.
Directly engage with the Product team on unblocking customers, sharing IP and recommendations for Product improvements based on our customer experiences.
Be a thought leader and share knowledge with others through management best practices and solution documents.
Engage in technical communities, build automated self-help solutions and create training.
Act as the subject matter expert across IaaS and PaaS Azure solution, including Data Estate migration and Data & AI, Data Platform Modernization.
Staying current on latest Azure/Cloud innovations in order to conduct experiments, drive product improvement, and act as subject matter trainer for other engineers.
Interact daily with other FastTrack Engineers to provide technical action plans or take ownership of situations that require escalation.
You will partner with various Azure Engineering subject matter experts to scope and build customer solutions, delivery modules, tools and proof of concepts as needed.
Successful Candidate Competencies will include the following:
Depth in understanding Azure Data Services in both the Analytics & AI space.
Database Migration experience – Architectural design E2E solution including experience with SQL DB/MI, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse, Azure ML/AI, Cosmos DB in operationalizing successful workloads on Azure.
Familiarity with cloud deployment and development tools (ie. PowerShell, Visual Studio, .NET, Python)
Familiarity with cloud networking concepts, connectivity (geo-redundancy, CDN, VPN) and tools
Strong communication skills to effectively drive recommendations and land priorities across customers, partners, senior executives and across organizational boundaries.
Abillity to lead teams and identify areas for process improvements that help improve the team effectiveness.
Willingness to build on as well as contribute to the work of others in a strong team centered environment.
Have a growth mind set.
Managing ambiguity: must have the ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple demands and shifting priorities.
Collaboration – collaborate on complex multi-faceted programs.

5+ years of people management experience
10+ years of experience in product, project or program management or consulting
5+ years of Cloud software industry experience
Ability to communicate effectively with corporate customers, possess an understanding of the onboarding process and demonstrate a vision for the future of Microsoft support.
Excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations; to lead projects and to motivate others.
Consulting and/or Delivery experience a plus
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/Engineering
Language fluency in Portuguese preferred.
This is a remote role and will work out of a home office with limited travel, especially during Covid.
Some travel may be required up to 25% for onsite team or customer meetings.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
