As a member of the Embedded Tactical Development team you will partner with the investment teams on various projects including portfolio construction, risk management, and alpha research. The Impact Your Work Will Have on the Organization

This role impacts the organization by improving the time-to-market of investment initiatives through a combination of both analytical and software development skillsets. The assignments will include gathering the ideas, conceptualizing them through a programming language and creating a packaged solution that can be used by the investment professionals. This role will:

  • Intelligently apply analytics and financial concepts to support investment needs and develop new solutions.

  • Lead the implementation of a project through the entire software development lifecycle utilizing a full-stack implementation.

  • Add scale, rigor, and repeatability through software development best practices.

  • Assist teams by developing high-quality maintainable software solutions in an agile environment that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.

qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or Related degrees

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience working with excel based solutions and partnering with investment professionals focused in either Equity or Fixed Income asset classes.

  • Domain knowledge in either equities or fixed income asset classes

  • Proven track record in hands-on development of end to end technology solutions

  • Full-stack software development knowledge.

  • Technical and programming skills including Microsoft Excel with VBA, Programming Language (like .Net, Python, Java), SQL and BI Tools (Tableau or Spotfire).

  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders, including investment professionals, technology partners and senior management

skills: The Expertise We're Looking For

The successful candidate for this role will partner with the investment teams to co-develop, validate and implement new solutions through various stages of requirements, proof-of-concept, prototype, and production. The candidate will effectively manage all aspects of solution delivery while handling multiple projects at once including work intake and tracking; requirements gathering and problem analysis; solution design and implementation; quality assurance; and status reporting. The candidate will be responsible for employing agile methodologies to conceptualize the ideas, using mostly Microsoft Excel with VBA Scripting, Programming language (e.g. .Net, Java, Python), BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire) and SQL to then package the concepts into meaningful and effective solutions. To be successful in the role s/he should have a good understanding of financial analytics, rapid solution development and end to end hands on software development software development experience.
