Principal Solution Architect, Digital Security & Resiliance

As part of Microsoft’s Cloud + AI Group, we are responsible for building, managing, and securing the platform, products, processes, and services that powers Microsoft. We build, maintain, and implement a cloud-first approach to our technology and experiences, from custom-built business solutions developing our campus of the future and our productivity and collaboration experiences like Teams and SharePoint, to horizontal 3rd party solutions like SAP and Adobe. Microsoft Digital has an opening for a Principal Solution Architect role within the Digital Security and Resilience organization in the Office of the CTO (Federal) ! Our team consists of engineering and business professionals working on critical security initiatives, committed to delivering quality services and programs to the rest of Microsoft (End Users). As a Security Architect, you will use your technical knowledge & experience to improve & expand the security of Microsoft’s technical strategy to prevent data breaches/incidents. As part of a high impact security team, you will be empowered to lead and work across the Microsoft Digital organization and multiple product teams to raise the bar for protecting the enterprise. In this role, you will bring advanced technical expertise and leadership to collect threat intelligence & analysis feedback from teams across the company and the information security industry, and then drive both team investments and Microsoft Security Engineering Fundamentals KPIs across the company as a result of these findings.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with security teams across Microsoft to analyze security incidents and identity key security gaps and areas for improvement.

  • A passion for continued learning and desire to creatively solve complex multidimensional problems is critical to success in this role.

  • Be a ‘thought leader’ across Microsoft’s security teams to envision and drive consensus around security strategy for the next 3 years.

  • Work closely with Microsoft’s engineering groups to ensure that learnings from security incidents are used to make Microsoft’s internal systems more secure and resilient to future attacks.

  • Identity gaps in and drive improvements to Microsoft cloud and on-prem products and services that enhance the security of Microsoft and its customers.

  • Effectively communicate complex security analysis to executive leadership clearly and concisely.

  • Stay up to date on the latest emerging security technologies and how they might impact or be leveraged for the security of Microsoft’s internal systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience developing and deploying security technologies at enterprise scale.

  • The successful candidate must be a US Citizen.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

-Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

-Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep technical expertise in Microsoft’s security and identity products and services.

  • Broad understanding of Microsoft cloud and onprem offerings.

  • Ability to work closely with senior executives on sensitive security issues.

  • 5+ years of enterprise cyber security experience in a highly regulated environment.

  • Working knowledge of one or more general purpose programming/script languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell.

  • Working understanding operating in an Agile team.

  • Experience with direct, remote and virtual teams.

  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and ability to work with deadlines.
