The HSP organization within Azure manages hardware roadmap planning and program management from concept through production for all of Microsoft’s current and future on-line services.Well-defined and executed strategic planning ensures products meet the requirements for performance, features, and time-to-market. The ability to draw insights from a deep understanding of the cloud HW Infrastructure landscape and industry trends is critical in informing the roadmap and planning decisions.

Responsibilities

Collaborateand drive efforts across multiple engineeringgroups within Microsoft; success will be through developingand putting in place processes and methods that bring about efficient collaboration and decision makingwithin Microsoft and Azure.In addition, as a PM you’ll need to have both excellent management & people skills paired with technical depth & passion.

  • Drive technical projects from requirements through launch, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks,and keeping processes running smoothly.

  • Work withhardwarearchitects,engineering,and businessteamsto developand driveend to end program development.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and implement features, infrastructure, processes, and workflows.

  • Create and operationalize processes to transform the effectiveness of the organizationwith respect to meeting business goals. Coach, enable,and grow Program Managerswithin the team and our partners.

  • Responsible for effective communication and escalation of risks and dependencies while ensuring timely decisions are being made.

  • Scopes technical and business problems and processes by identifying key issues, inputs, stakeholders, and outcomes.

  • Be comfortable interacting with senior management, highlighting risksacross functional teamsand providing recommendations to support product level decisions.

  • Operate effectively in ambiguity. Apply process where it creates value, and design process where it’s needed. Recognize the situations where each approach is most appropriate.

  • Ensuring cross functional alignment:generating clarity, tracking towards release milestones and overall readiness for all new Data Center infrastructure deployments.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical,computerengineering, or associated engineering fields

  • 7+ years of technical product management experience, including products within datacenter HW systems and/or Cloud infrastructure.

  • 7+years experiencecreating product roadmap(s) from conception to launch, driving end-to-end program execution, defining product go-to-market strategy, and leading program direction discussions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program management fundamentals including presentation skills and written communication; ability to build relationships and influence in a matrix organization; manager cross team deliverables including program costs, schedules,risksand issues mitigation.

  • Understanding and passion for program management, establishing process and framework for large scale collaboration

  • Experience leading teams in silicon, HW systems & SW ecosystem setup within technical contexts

  • Proven capabilities tomulti-taskanddrive positive business results.

  • Knowledge of server technology and associated commodities is a plus but not required.
