RedHat Principal Technical Writer in Boston, Massachusetts

The Red Hat Customer Content Services team is looking for a Principal Technical Writer to join our Red Hat Enterprise Linux documentation team in Raleigh or Westford. In this role, you will define the scope of and deliver documentation while maintaining a customer focus and developing your technical expertise. You will work closely with content strategists, documentation project managers, software engineers and customer facing teams to create content that helps our customers understand our offerings and find the best solutions for their needs.
Primary job responsibilities
Work closely with content strategists, documentation program managers, engineering project teams, support teams, and other stakeholders to identify and define user stories for product documentation
Engage and collaborate with customer feedback programs to address content gaps, respond to direct customer feedback, and promote continuous improvement of the documentation experience
Keep up to date on changes of our offerings, customer use cases, and support issues
Master the use of our internal documentation toolchain and issue-tracking tools, including Git, GitLab, AsciiDoc, JIRA, and Confluence
7 or more years of enterprise-level technical writing experience
Familiarity with Red Hat products and related industry offerings
Familiarity with revision control systems. Prior experience and comfort with Git is a major advantage
Ability to collaborate in a global team environment, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments
Working knowledge and experience operating in a Linux environment using the command line
Experience with Agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery
Experience with modular, topic-based documentation
Experience in writing clear and concise procedural documentation for technical audience
