Our Tech and Product team is responsible for innovating and maintaining a massive distributed systems engineering platform that ships hundreds of features to production for tens of millions of users across all industries every day. Our users count on our platform to be highly reliable, lightning fast, supremely secure, and to preserve all of their customizations and integrations every time we ship. The SFDC Service team is a group of developers and engineers focused on running, supporting and improving Salesforce’s Continuous Delivery (CD) platform. Our Engineering team is critical to the deployment of a consistent and stable infrastructure that both meets design standards and product goals. In this role, you will be an essential part of owning, automating & delivering the continuous delivery platform for all of Salesforce’s efforts in running services on the public clouds.

You will be a member of a team focusing on building and maintaining an enterprise level, continuous delivery infrastructure. You will understand and apply a wide variety of concepts, practices, and procedures of service delivery engineering, and will need to resolve a broad range of issues in creative ways. As a self-starter, you will be expected to make quick, effective decisions and think outside the box. You will take management requirements and be responsible for designing solutions and implementing services that focus on availability, performance, automation, monitoring, and security. You work on multiple projects of moderate complexity. You will need to exercise your judgment and use your expertise in selecting methods and techniques for developing solutions. You will be asked to do more with less.

Your Impact:

  • Responsible for the oversight and management of Spinnaker deployments supporting dev, test and production 24x7

  • A key member of the team dedicated to solving difficult challenges and providing high-level support for continuous delivery to public cloud infrastructure at Salesforce

  • Recommend and implement changes to the production environment that improve the stability and performance and security of a Kubernetes based application

  • Excellent technical and people skills are an absolute necessity

  • Participate in Project Planning, Design, and Delivery process

  • Proactively maintain system availability, reliability, and performance

  • Drive efficiency through standardization, automation, documentation, and cross-training

  • Provide technical leadership and decision making

  • Possess strong communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences

Basic Requirements:

  • Extensive experience planning, designing, and implementing in Linux or Windows distributed systems (Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu preferred)

  • Experience deploying and administering applications in a Kubernetes Cluster either cloud managed (GKE,EKS,AKS, etc) or on bare metal.

  • Experience working with all aspects of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including, but not limited to RDS, OpsWorks, Elastic Load Balancers, Identity & Access Management, ElasticCache, and ElasticSearch

  • Experience architecting, designing, and implementing SaaS solutions

  • Proficiency in scripting with languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, and PowerShell

  • Experience designing, implementing and documenting production infrastructure

  • Experience with basic networking, including firewalls and IPSec VPN Tunnels

  • Experience scaling and configuring Kubernetes based applications using kubectl

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Spinnaker

  • Experience configuring and maintaining Kubernetes clusters using kubeadm or cloud based tools.

  • Experience with Puppet and Ansible

  • Experience with Terraform, Vault and other HashiCorp products


  • BS or MS in Computer Science plus relevant job-related experience

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $ 98900 for a Systems Engineer. You may also be entitled to receive bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
