Ford Pro Technology group is looking for Product Managers that embrace Lean, Agile and Human Centered Design practices to deliver innovative software products. The product line manager will work with individual product team managers to coordinate software delivery that optimizes user experience and business value.

What you'll do...

  • Maintain a balance between business viability, user desirability and technical feasibility while delivering software products across a product line.

  • Works collaboratively and closely with Business Partners, UX and Engineering to define a product vision and break it down into a Product Strategy including a tangible roadmap for teams to schedule and build features for delivery.

  • Help Business Partners understand Ford Pro Tech’s iterative development approach with focus to deliver value rapidly to production through careful and deliberate prioritization with subsequent launches that build upon our learnings.

  • Drive Product Strategy and manage dependencies across different product lines through collaboration with their Product Group Leads and other Product Line Leaders

  • Conduct user research, product experiments, and other validation techniques to gather feedback and product insights in partnership with Product Designers

  • Translate research into simple intuitive solutions while handling complex information architecture

  • Create assets to guide product development work (Discovery, Framing and Scoping documents, opportunity trees, user stories).

  • Work with product designers to ensure timely delivery of designs and assets to the development team.

  • Work hands-on with the development teams to prioritize, plan, and deliver software that creates excellent user experiences, desired business outcomes and shared ownership

  • Mentor and train other Product Managers to help them learn agile/XP methods, product management techniques and build skills.

  • Help innovate and iterate on agile PM processes, share learnings, and actively participate in Product Management Community of Practice

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering field or business administration

  • 5+ years with progressive responsibilities in software development

  • 2+ years of experience defining product vision, strategy, product roadmaps and building and managing multiple backlogs.

  • 2+ years working with Agile software methodologies (Scrum, eXtreme Programming, Kanban, etc)

  • Experience in creating product roadmaps to serve various markets through a global lens

  • Obsess about the customer and associated Personas

  • Skilled at defining and prioritizing product features.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach others.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision making.

  • Ability to collaborate well with engineers, designers, and business partners.

  • Previous success delivering a product to market with an Agile development team, and ongoing development and support of production applications.

  • Curious about new technologies and exhibit a strong desire to learn.

  • Practice in Lean thinking, human-centered product development and Agile Software development

  • Have exposure to lightweight product development methods such as user story mapping and/ or rapid prototyping.

  • Experience in designing and leading development of cloud native software applications.
