JOB TITLE: Product Manager - Order Management System (eCommerce)
REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Product Management
JOB SUMMARY: The Product Manager will play a critical role in supporting BNED’s transition to a new eCommerce platform serving students, families, alumni and fans across all of our institutions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Management, the Product Manager will help drive the ongoing solutions and development of the platform to help meet business goals by understanding and solving for the needs of our customers. This role requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, organization and a steadfast focus on delivering for our customers in our customer-centric environment. Strong communication skills and collaborative teamwork are also critical for success.
Please note we are only considering candidates based in the East Coast.
Own the day to day execution of the product strategy. Ensure that it aligns with the overall product and company vision.
Be an expert in Sterling OMS and its applications to meet business need.
Help manage the roadmap. Make tough tactical prioritization decisions while helping the company think long-term.
Build trust with stakeholders by maintaining an understandable, accurate roadmap.
Manage requirements and team with engineering, program and stakeholders throughout the agile process and product development lifecycle.
Represent the customer internally with stakeholders and in driving solutions.
Identify and champion innovations and improvements to help achieve our business goals by better serving our customers

5-7 years of experience in product management in a commerce environment
Order Management System experience required, Sterling OMS strongly preferred
Proven track record in defining and launching successful software products/features
Experience working with and supporting agile teams and following best practices as well as ability to work with non-agile teams
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to details with the ability to process large and complex information and derive specific actionable insights
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working directly across multiple stakeholder types of various cultural & organizational background
Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on emerging trends, technology and features
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce product requirements in user stories to drive product development and provide product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders including senior management
Strong work ethic. Self-starting personality with the ability to problem solve and develop creative solutions
