Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company that will inspire and empower you to shine? Join us as a Product Manager on the Digital Health Enablement Team in Takeda’s Global Data, Digital, and Technology (GDD&T) team based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The Digital Health Enablement Team is a global team that allows Takeda to design, develop, and deploy externally facing digital solutions to patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs). Our team of software engineers and IT professionals share a passion for building trail-blazing digital solutions, while ensuring quality and compliance are followed to the highest standards. Our team works closely with local business teams, commercial, drug product teams, and research & development as key compliance enablers for both internal and external partners developing digital health solutions.
The Product Manager will own the vision and product strategy for an internally facing compliance platform and the administration of Takeda’s digital asset compliance process framework.
% of Time Job Function and Description:
80% Platform Product Management:
Manage a broad set of technologies and services as part of the platform’s end-to-end product vision.
Prioritize requirements from a broad set of stakeholders, inclusive of those utilizing the platform for compliance review of digital assets, business owners, and the reviewers themselves.
Ownership of cross-functional team alignment and delivery by working with software developers, testers, project managers, business, and compliance teams to deliver on the product vision.
Create the adoption strategy for platform updates, in collaboration with communication teams and various Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) updates and rollouts.
Demonstrate solid delivery of commitments while working within agreed upon timelines. To that end, solid project management, organization, and communication skills are needed to drive projects to completion and to effectively communicate progress along the way.
Partner with Digital Health Solutions Marketplace Product Manager to ensure a holistic user experience for landscaping digital assets.
20% Digital Asset Compliance Assessment Process:
Compliance stewardship to ensure digital health products and digital assets registered on the platform undergo necessary stakeholder review, inclusive of privacy, legal, E&C, patient safety reporting, device quality, and global regulatory review.
Help guide teams to decipher regulatory classification of digital assets (i.e. SOX, non-GxP, GxP, or SaMD).
Work closely with digital asset owners to ensure global SOPs are followed in close collaboration with compliance assessment teams.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3-5 years of technical and functional experience in software product development.
Experience writing and defining user stories and creating a product backlog.
Solid communication skills.
Ability to identify issues and provide recommended solutions to resolve.
Technical application development skills a plus.
Experience in the healthcare industry or any regulated field a plus.
Basic Qualification:
BS/BEng in a technically relevant field of study (e.g. Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering) with minimum 3-5 years’ experience in product or software development and delivery.
Non-technical education background can be considered with enough recent software product owner experience.
Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Experience with digital or software product development and product management within an agile environment.
Prior experience as a software developer is not required but should have a good understanding of how software is developed and brought to the market (e.g. programming languages/technologies, mobile apps, embedded software, web and data technologies). The candidate will be expected to be able to work closely with technical teams and to be able to understand software technology and development methodologies.
Exposure to performing technology assessments, typically supporting due diligence activities.
Experience in developing and maintaining cross-functional relationships.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Understands how user needs drive technical requirements.
Self-starter – Needs to be eager to learn about new and existing projects and run with them. Should be able to drive software projects as a key team leader with minimal need for oversight.
Good project management skills – ability to track scope, scope creep, manage project risks, and communicate timely progress updates.
Skills at developing business cases, ROI analysis, and value propositions a plus.
Demonstrate strong business acumen while documenting solid requirements and managing scope.
Strong analytical skillset to make data-driven decisions, identify new opportunities for innovation, and drive the strategic direction of the product.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
133,000.00 - 209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
