This Program Administration Manager II will be responsible for:

  • The Program Manager Referring Provider Experience position is responsible for improving the connections between local and regional referring primary care physicians and BCH. The position is focused on evaluating and removing the barriers that physicians have accessing clinical information regarding their patients’ care at Boston Children’s Hospital, especially for and in collaboration with those primary care physicians with whom BCH has formed alliances.

  • The Program Manager will oversee development and implementation of enhancements, and overall maintenance of communications with referring physicians. This includes implementation of the MyPatients portal within referring providers’ Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, and implementation of external portals within the BCH EMR system. The Program Manager also actively drives the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of automated communication efforts, including the respective implementation costs and benefits to care delivery of various linkages and interfaces. Both functions must be performed in close collaboration with the Information Services Department (ISD) and IDHA/ Digital Health.

  • The Program Manager will also develop access to specialty advice, synchronous and asynchronous, to deliver content to referring clinicians that increases the value we provide to them and their patients (e.g., clinical advice lines; e-consults; protocol access). This work will include development of processes and change management programs to increase adoption of new communication pathways designed to provide the right care at the right time in the right setting. The position will be responsible for establishing reporting and evaluation dashboards that provide feedback on the success of the initiatives pursued.

  • The Program Manager will oversee and execute outreach and educational efforts to increase awareness and utilization of functionalities available to improve the connections between local and regional referring primary care physicians and BCH.

  • The Program Manager will support efforts that enhance the coordination and integration of BCH’s interoperability efforts across the enterprise. In connection with ISD, the Program Manager will support BCH’s efforts to scale interoperability tools (portal connections, Commonwell/Carequality, Direct Messaging, Mass Hiway, etc.) to across external physicians and partners.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. ( Associates Degree with minimum of 8 years of relevant experience). Master's degree preferred.

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
