Facebook Program Manager, External Metrics in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

Are you a people person? Are you an expert in Governance, Risk, Compliance and Audit? Do you love the rigor, attention to the detail? Most of all, are you a leader who has proven experience in leading a global governance program across large organizations like the size of Facebook? We are looking for leaders who are enablers with great people, process, and product skills; and has willingness to roll up their sleeves to take on both tactical/strategic tasks at hand. You will also be required to lead company-wide periodical audits as necessary to ensure compliance and effectiveness of the controls and drive program maturity on an ongoing basis.External Metrics is a very complex cross-functional program spanning across multiple products including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Workplace, AR/VR, Ads, Videos, Marketplace, Commerce, Payments; and functional organizations including GMS, Partnership, Legal, Communications, Finance, Marketing, etc. Relevant experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. Facebook's External Metrics team is redefining what is possible, and we need program managers that can do the same.

Required Skills:

  1. Penetrate undefined space (brand new organizations) and conduct roadshows to create awareness on metric standards, process, and system controls.

  2. Create and train a local Metrics cross-functional team to conduct reviews on metrics changes.

  3. Use ‘Risk Assessment Matrix’ to identify metric risks.

  4. Implement process and system controls to mitigate metric risks

  5. and bring the products back in compliance.

  6. Leads review meetings with stakeholders at various level including Metrics cross-functional Review, SEV Review, Metric Circle Review, Central Review.

  7. Run Retrospective Review Program for Metrics-based Tickets. Responsibilities include planning meeting agendas, interfacing with presenters, running/facilitating meetings, tracking follow-ups.

  8. Ensure Metric Review, Re-Review, SEV Review follow-ups are closed on time within SLA.

  9. Conduct quarterly end-to-end audit in collaboration with Internal Audit to ensure compliance

  10. and escalate up to leadership as appropriate.

  11. Facilitates difficult conversations against competing priorities at all levels (Engineers, Directors, and VPs).

  12. Manages program goals, scope, timeline, risks, issues & action Items, constraints.

  13. Owns and facilitates various communication channels including office hours, Workplace group, Workplace Chat.

  14. Help collect program level updates to create visibility on team’s progress against half-yearly goals.

  15. Plan and lead team building events.

  16. Manage federated organizational health dashboard.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. in a Computer Science with specialization in Project/Program Management.

  2. 8+ years of experience in managing large programs or projects.

  3. 8+ years of experience in working for large corporations under matrix structure.

  4. Proven people skills in managing difficult conversations, organizational conflicts, negotiations, prioritization, and mass communications.

  5. 5+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, program/product management, or similar experience.
