VMware Program Manager, GTM Plays & Transformation - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Boston, Massachusetts

The Sr. Program Manager for GTM Plays & Transformation is an important role at VMware. This role will evolve over time as we work to industrialize our GTM play system across the organization to multiple internal and external stakeholders. This individual will oversee strategy execution, planning, and management of critical initiatives as a key member of the GTM Plays organization including:

  • command center program execution and rhythm of the business

  • program management of transformational and velocity plays

  • driving weekly program updates to executive level stakeholders partnering closely with our GTM transformation office leads, functional members, and external vendors as needed.

Job Role and Responsibilities

This individual will balance a mix of planning, orchestration, and execution responsibilities in support of the business. This individual will manage critical initiatives to successful execution across the organization and all supporting functions. These critical initiatives will directly influence and drive key financial results and outcomes for the overall GTM plays organization. The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of business acumen, sales operations experience, cloud solution knowledge, big-picture thinking, and influencing skills.

Experience and Qualifications:

The successful program management candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and possess excellent relationship-building skills.

The preferred candidate will possess an understanding of sales, operations, and customer service.

Additionally, the successful candidate should possess the below strengths & skillsets:

  • Proven project management skills

  • Learns quickly and can adapt to changes in timeframes, people, and situations with ease; remains calm under pressure

  • Experience defining KPIs and measuring to those goals

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and work collaboratively across organizations

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while juggling priorities and tight deadlines

  • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners and stakeholders

  • Fierce collaborator with experience across complex software or SaaS organizations

  • Holds people accountable for achieving their goals

  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience, including executives

  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across all departments within VMware through influence by leveraging extensive interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Leads by example, creating a sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to the work

  • Self-Starter with ability to balance a variety of tasks, lead and direct the work of others

  • Experience working with executives to accomplish organizational priorities and guide VP’s and various leadership teams through alternative decisions

  • Experience with design/program management software

  • PM Certification a plus

This job may require the candidate to comply with travel restrictions and/or work from a facility that requires full vaccination prior to entry. Further, depending on various factors, including legal challenges to the Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, VMware may require employees to be fully vaccinated effective January 18, 2022.
