This position is on the Clinical Pathways team within the department of Patient Safety and Quality at Boston Children’s Hospital. This role works in a team environment that supports clinicians in the design of clinical guidelines for condition-specific standardization of care, spanning projects across a variety of settings ranging from outpatient primary and specialty care to inpatient units. These care pathway projects involve a range of data collection methods and toolsets for enabling quality improvement and continuous optimization of clinical decision support. All our care standardization projects are aimed at improving patient outcomes, reducing practice variation among clinicians, and optimizing the decision support process for our clinicians.
This Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
Managing a variety of care guideline projects across a variety of clinical hospital departments and care settings.
Working with physician stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize clinical guidelines for clinical decision support.
Playing a key part in guiding our projects and will have basic skills in methods typically employed in process improvement within healthcare delivery organizations.
Learning new software applications and tools as they are incorporated into our evolving workflows.
To qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a health related field and at least one to two years’ experience in an administrative support role and/or projects-related role. Master’s degree preferred.
The ability to effectively coordinate the activities of employees within assigned unit/department.
The ability to effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions.
Technical competence with various software programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. Familiarity with project management software a plus.
