Wellforce Projects Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

Reporting to the Management of the Population Health & Contract Performance department, the Projects Analyst will be responsible for performing operational analytics and providing key data to multidisciplinary teams to help strategically adjust work processes accordingly. Proactively manages data and systems infrastructure that will facilitate and accelerate the scope, process, and performance of the Population Health & Contract Performance department at Tufts Medical Center.

Other responsibilities include working closely with the managers within the department to provide accurate tracking and reporting of programmatic initiatives and metrics to the senior management and support staff as requested. Identifies opportunities to improve quality outcomes, patient access and volume, and improve overall patient experience. Provides front line oversight and program development through quality improvement projects to enhance the patient experience at Tufts Medical Center. In general, this individual will possess varying degrees of expertise and knowledge in the following areas: data analytics to enhance the departments overall quality improvement strategy. Candidate should be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction/supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative/flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.


  • Provide monthly reporting on key metrics to managers and PH & CP team that measures, but is not limited to: quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, network referral volume, margin drivers for the PO and for departments, and patient access data.

  • Responsible for the successful management of all ambulatory dashboards within the PO and Ambulatory Operations Department.

  • Provide superior project support and easily digestible reports to multidisciplinary teams, generally focused on data-driven priority initiatives, anticipated future projections, and insight to areas of potential improvement.

  • Assist with internal audits, identifying areas of process improvement, and centralizing processes aimed at optimizing workflow where necessary.

  • Helps coordinate enterprise-wide efforts to ensure that performance improvement programs are developed and managed using a data driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives.

  • Collaborates with the department director and teams on the development and communication.

  • Ensures quality and process improvement programs are data-driven; translate data-driven insights into clear priorities and interventions for operations managers to act on.

  • Provide analytic and quality improvement support to ambulatory leadership that includes: observation, data collection, monitoring, solutions and reporting.

  • Recommend ad hoc consulting and process improvement initiatives on an as needed basis.

  • Facilitate the prioritization and completion of projects with internal and external stakeholders.


  • BS/BA in a relevant field desired

  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas.

  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability

  • 2 years minimum experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, graphs, formulas), Access, PowerPoint. Experience with statistical analysis software/T-SQL a plus

  • Ability to work collaboratively in medical matrix team and the ability to adequately represent needs of department, and work with leadership throughout the organization.

  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills.

  • Demonstrates initiative qualities. Mature judgment and a high level of motivation and professionalism.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize and pursue multiple tasks in tandem.

  • Highly developed skills using personal computer tools including Microsoft Office programs, spreadsheets and presentation applications.
