Thermo Fisher Scientific Security Policy Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

What You Will Be A Part Of:

Policies are the bedrock of a strong information security program, and the Security Policy Analyst will serve a key role in managing our robust policy set. This role reports to the Manager of Cybersecurity Policy & Compliance, and is a part of the larger Corporate Infrastructure & Security (CIS) program at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Cybersecurity Policy & Compliance team is based in Frederick, Maryland so a local candidate is preferred, but remote candidates will also be considered.

The Security Policy Analyst role requires a fair amount of administrative work (drafting documents, sending emails, scheduling review meetings, etc.) but its an amazing opportunity to be exposed to all areas of information security (incident management, risk management, devsecops, insider threat, product security, and more) and meet people from all levels around the globe.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist or lead in the development, maintenance, and revision of policies, standards, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines of security programs and related activities

  • Partner effectively with the security awareness team to communicate new policies and spread general awareness about policy set

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure policies meet the needs and goals of CIS

  • Partner with internal teams to test compliance with our policies

  • Collaborate with other departments (Legal, HR, Finance, etc.) on cross-functional policies

  • Gather and store artifacts to prepare for audits

  • Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes that could impact our policies

  • Provide training and awareness on policy life cycle

  • Perform other duties as assigned

How You Will Get Here:

  • 2+ years' experience in IT, Information Security, Compliance, Legal, Data Privacy or a related industry

  • Experience or interest in IT and/or Information Security

  • Excellent writing skills, with experience as a writer or technical editor a plus

  • Experience drafting corporate policies or working in document management a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in IT, Information Security, Risk Management, Law, or Data Privacy
