Oracle Security Program Manager - Global Product Security in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

About us:

We are the Security Program Management team in Global Product Security reporting to Oracle's Chief Security Officer (CSO) and we are responsible for driving security assurance programs across Oracle. We work with all cloud services, consulting, support, and product teams at Oracle from developers to executives. We provide guidance and oversight to help teams identify and remediate gaps in security assurance practices and develop security outreach initiatives to foster a vibrant security culture.

What you'll do:

• Work directly with Oracle teams who create, customize, and configure software for Oracle's customers to help them effectively and efficiently apply security assurance practices to the software they are designing, building, testing, and deploying or delivering.

• Ask effective probing questions about the security stance or practices of a service, product or project.

• Audit the effectiveness of security assurance programs or projects.

• Lead with knowledge and influence, build relationships, facilitate communications, resolve conflicts, and be willing to escalate as needed.

• Explore innovative approaches and develop new initiatives to improve security assurance in fast-paced cloud environments.

• Create application security guidance when needed.

• Work closely with teams newly acquired by Oracle as they identify and remediate their security debt.

• Work with individual developers, consultants, Lines of Business security teams, and executives.

You will provide guidance and oversight to organizations, to ensure the software they create, customize, or configure appropriately protects customers' data and information technology from cyber threats. The role impacts hundreds if not thousands of Oracle internal employees and ultimately impacts Oracle's customers by strengthening the security posture of Oracle's products, services and consulting deliverables.

Who you are:

  • You have application security assurance knowledge that will enable you to analyze existing gaps in security assurance processes.

  • You are an effective influencer but you can ask hard questions when needed.

  • You have experience with secure application design, secure coding principles, and application security testing.

  • You have experience establishing and managing projects or programs.

  • You effectively communicate verbally and through your writing.

  • You have software development experience and understand the challenges of developing secure software.

  • You have the ability to look beyond the surface to determine if effective security assurance is being done.

  • You have experience in putting together application security guidance.

  • You may have experience with agile/scrum/lean methodologies and/or High Velocity, DevOps or DevSecOps environments.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)

New York City Pay Range: from $113,400 to $204,200 per annum; eligible for bonus and equity.

Colorado Pay Range: from $101,400 to $193,400 per annum; eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
