Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Senior Data Analytics Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Innovative opportunity to lead a highly talented BCBSMA team responsible for data product end to end delivery. Our goal analytics delivery team is to act as data steward for our business partners and create world class data products to support BCBSMA strategy. We're looking for a leader in our data product team to work closely with Business Leaders, Product Managers, Data Scientists and Software Engineers to define analytics definitions of member behaviors and features to serve our wide range of digital initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Act as data stewards across the organization ensuring that the business leverage data to drive decisions

  • Be the analytics spokesperson to define analytics definitions after performing deep dive analysis and aligning with the other analytics teams in the company

  • Play a crucial role in scrum team to discuss then standardize data definitions and later work with data engineers to take the code to production deployment

  • Adopt agile processes of building and delivering data products

  • Manage upstream and downstream business communication related to product being developed and to meet critical business needs

  • Responsible for defining stories and ensuring its visibility to business partners and ET leadership

  • Have end-to-end experience with product ownership including taking final decisions on product functionality and feature definition

  • Manage documentation for all data products to support needs of analytics, engineering, and operations staff

  • Attends and actively participates in Team Ceremonies: Iteration Planning, Daily Scrum, Iteration Review, Iteration Retrospective.

  • Understands data architecture, solutions and platforms supporting enterprise data & integration transformation working with infrastructure and data engineers.

  • Stay on top of all relevant healthcare and consumer technology trends, competitors, and market offerings.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 7 years of analytics experience

  • Minimum 3 years of data science or machine learning experience

  • Minimum 4 years of SQL and Python skills

  • Deep experience and expertise in quantitative analysis and modeling of big data, statistics, and experimental design

  • Familiarity with a breadth of statistical and machine-learning modeling techniques

  • Familiarity with healthcare payer data, member journey, marketing, member service and clickstream data

  • Experience working in Agile framework

  • Define, prioritize and ensure a ready backlog of work for a cross-functional product team, accept final product output, focusing on achievement of defined outcomes versus defining how the work is completed

  • Active problem solver and creative thinker who can think on their feet and define and manage an ongoing test & learn agenda.

  • Must be highly adept and capable of building and maintaining trusting partnerships and collaborative relationships across the organization

  • Healthcare domain knowledge is a huge plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or another technical field

  • MS in data science or business analytics preferred
