Job Summary: The Senior Data Architect / BI Developer designs and implements enterprise data and business intelligence infrastructure and architecture, while working collaboratively with leadership, end-users, and subject matter experts to create advanced data, integration, and business intelligence solutions that are accessible, scalable, reliable, and secure. This is an exempt position. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Essential Functions of the Position: Design, deliver, document, and support enterprise data warehouse SQL platform with a focus on architectural standards, growth, performance, flexibility, reliability, scalability, and security. Collaborate across the organization to standardize a relevant data collection and aggregation strategy, data warehousing, and transactional data repository approach Develops complex database solutions for SQL Server, including creating tables, stored procedures, custom user-defined functions, triggers, and indexes Lead the implementation and use of the Microsoft Power BI data analytics and visualization tool. Design and build custom data visualization solutions in Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) Develop strategies for flexibility, scalability, and define the future technical architecture direction for the business intelligence reporting environment. Develop and implement automated integration processes to support interoperability between internal and external systems Assist with the design and delivery of end-user training, best practices and training materials On-going support of existing SQL infrastructure and reporting platforms Maintain knowledge of current research, trends, technology, and best practices related to data management, data warehousing, and business intelligence Strong ability to analyze user requirements, make recommendations, and implement solutions Conduct research and make recommendations on BI and data management products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. Assist with and/or lead special projects (as necessary) Requirements for the Position: Demonstrated experience with enterprise data architecture, design and implementation on the Microsoft platform Extensive knowledge and experience with BI technologies (eg. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Domo, etc.) Previous experience designing, developing, supporting an enterprise data warehouse Understanding of data warehouse metadata concepts, tools, and data warehousing methodologies. Strong knowledge of API and web services based development Quickly learn and adapt to new business and technical concepts. Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive and readily embraces change. Strong team focus with a genuine interest and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and interact at all levels in the organization Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with non-IT professionals and explain concepts in agency (business) terms. Ability to understand and interpret business needs and solve problems A COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the position. One COVID-19 shot is acceptable, contingent on the individual receiving the second shot within the allotted time frame.
