Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team of data engineers within Autodesk’ Construction Solution (ACS) Division. You'll work in a fast-paced, cross-functional and highly collaborative environment alongside forward-thinking colleagues who are equally excited and passionate about the value that modern data and analytics can bring to the business and to our customers.

As a Data Engineering Manager, you will need to develop technical and organizational expertise in the Business Analytics space at Autodesk. You will be responsible for leading day-to-day operations of the engineering teams, as well as collaborating with Product, Compliance and Sales teams on roadmaps and long-term goals. Other responsibilities include: hiring, communication with upper management, development of direct reports, and collaboration with peer managers to improve our engineering culture and current processes. We are looking for someone who thrives on autonomy and has experience driving long-term projects to completion.

You are detail and quality oriented, and excited about the prospects of having a big impact with data at Autodesk. Our tech stack includes Astronomer, Fivetran, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, Looker and various AWS services.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead two engineering teams, tasked with modernizing and expanding a critical set of existing ETL pipelines

  • You will need a product-focused mindset. It is essential for you to understand business requirements and help architect systems that will scale to accommodate those needs

  • Break down complex problems, document technical solutions and sequence work to make fast, iterative improvements

  • Empower engineers to build and scale data infrastructure that powers batch and real-time data processing of millions of records

  • Interface with data engineers, data scientists, product managers and all data stakeholders to understand their needs and promote best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in large back-end systems, data engineering and SQL databases, and 1 to 3+ years of engineering management experience

  • Understand of SQL, dimensional modeling, and data engineering best practices

  • Experience developing and executing on multi-quarter roadmaps

  • Strong overall programming skills, able to write modular, maintainable code, preferably Python & SQL

  • Problem solver with excellent written and interpersonal skills; ability to make sound, complex decisions in a fast-paced, technical environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship or work experience

  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Marketo a plus

Salary Midpoint for this Position (Colorado): $ 200000
