Position: Senior Database Engineer
Locations: Manchester NH, Nashua NH, Burlington MA, Cambridge MA, US Remote
Reports to: Director, Product Development
Oracle Dyn is seeking an Operations focused Database Engineer, Administrator/Operator to work with engineering teams in support of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Services. This is a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment requiring strong communication and teamwork skills as well as the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
Work with software development teams to develop new Oracle Database stand-alone fault tolerant Instances and Real Application Clusters (RAC)
Work across the organization to maintain, improve and document existing databases and applications
Work with the software development team to optimize DB performance
Perform database troubleshooting and coordinate problem resolution activities
Establish and maintain productive relationships with peer organizations
Guide and mentor junior team members
May occasionally work outside normal business hours to assist with production issues
Minimum 7 years’ experience as Oracle Database Administrator Operator
Familiarity with backup and fail over strategies Golden gate and Data guard a plus
Familiarity with Oracle Wallet
Expertise in Query optimization INDEX management and Partitioning
Expertise in troubleshooting
Expertise in Linux Unix and familiarity with virtual networking and containers.
Experience with other DB technologies: Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and within groups
Experience in working with remote development teams
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
