The Sr Director, Customer Success Architects leads an industry elite Multi Cloud Infrastructure Architecture Team. This 50+ global team paves the path to customer success by translating customers’ long-term business objectives into actionable technology journeys in support of their overarching Customer Success Plan.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Within the first 6-12 months, you will have established relationships within all levels of the team and across VMware, will be paving the path that leads our customers through their SaaS/Subscription journey, and will be viewed as a key contributor to VMware’s transition to SaaS/Subscription & the growth of Success 360.

You will lead the Customer Success Architect team to drive customer outcomes, product adoption and improved customer experience while creating a motivating environment that improves employee engagement. By empowering your team, customer success metrics (Customer Health, Time to First Value, Adoption, Consumption, and others) will show improvement.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Technical acumen with a n emphasis i n Data Center Architecture

Provide broad technical acumen spanning Networking, Security, Storage, Day Two Operations, 3rd Party integrations, Application Architecture, Automation, and Multi Cloud Requirements. Coach and enable your team to accelerate success with VMware solutions, including guidance on architectural design, technical recommendations, blocker escalations and technical resource orchestration.

Field ing a Cha mpionship Caliber Team

Hire, on-board, develop, coach, and mentor premier technical talent. Set a clear bar for excellence. Drive role clarity, account coverage, project assignment and effective cross-team collaboration. Ensure the team delivers high quality production solutions that are resilient and successful.

Deliver transformational leadership to motivate and engage a team of top technologists. Be an inspirational role model by challenging and maximizing the strength of the team and aligning their efforts to the mission and vision of the organization. Cross Functional skills to influence and guide customer outcomes & business results

Collaborate cross-functionally to drive informed decisions, with the ability to speak both broadly about a group of customers and specifically about a single customer, while creating line of sight to business results. Drive operational excellence, including timely consumption opportunity management and high-quality reporting and insights.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Strong technicalteamleadership experienceideally including architecture design servicesdelivery leadershipandC-levelbusiness&technical customer relationshipmanagement.

  • Abilityto map customer business needs to technology solutions.

  • History of creating an environment conducive to learning, technical creativity and problem solving.

  • Proven track record of leading and engaging a team of domain experts whose technical knowledge/experiencessurpasses their own.

  • Minimum 10+ years technical experience with an emphasis in infrastructureand multi-cloud.

  • Proven success managingaglobal and culturallydiverse team across a matrixed organizational model.

  • Proven track record ofcontinuous improvementthat resultedinimproved KPIs.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Naturalteam playerwitha desire to work with others for broader success.

  • Abilityto operate successfully in a rapidly changing environment.

The Senior Director, Customer Success Architect is a highly collaborative role that is critical to the growth and success of VMware’s Success 360 offer. This leader will orchestrate engagement and collaboration with Sales, Support, Professional Services, Engineering, Product Marketing and Management, as well as Customer Success practitioners, to ensure customer focus and successful business outcome.
