Oracle Senior Functional Architect in Boston, Massachusetts
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

The Senior Functional Architect in the Oracle Food and Beverage Global Business Unit (FBGBU) works in the FBGBU development organization, which creates restaurant and hotel management solutions, such point of sale, kitchen management, payments, time and attendance, integration tools, reporting, stored value cards, and loyalty program management.
The Senior Functional Architect will be a part of a Global team driving and influencing the development of the functional requirements across the FBGBU portfolio. Collaboration is a key aspect to this role, enabling the team to work in an ever-changing environment.
The daily responsibilities and team interaction is constantly in motion, and while there is a focus on developing functional requirements, there is also an emphasis in supporting other departments such as product documentation, launch management, support, consulting, and solution engineering.
As a Senior Functional Architect in the Oracle Food and Beverage Global Business Unit, you will be responsible for the following:
Interacting with internal and external stakeholders to gather and document features' functional requirements
Working with the engineering teams to ensure the functional requirements are met
Creating external product documentation
Preparing and delivering launch content to internal teams (consulting, sales engineering, support, and sales) during the release process
Providing internal support for the product areas you are responsible for
Experience within the restaurant or hospitality industry is desired
Experience documenting and modelling complex designs is desired
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong problem solving skills
5+ years of retail experience
5+ years of software engineering, functional analysis or related experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent experience
