The Senior Manager Computing Platforms shall be responsible for:
Managing technical teams in implementing and supporting MS Windows and Unix systems, storage systems, VMware platform, and associated technologies.
Managing teams in supporting the computing environment to ensure system availability. Plans software upgrades and manages technology refresh program.
Working collaboratively across other organizations and aligns work across managers. Resolves complex problems affecting a broad range of technical and managerial issues.
Interviewing, selecting, promoting and conducting performance reviews of Managers. Reviewing and approving subordinate performance evaluation and merit increases. Developing and motivating staff to ensure productivity. Mentoring managers and when necessary, recommending corrective action and/or discharge in accordance with Hospital policy.
Managing the relationship between the hospital and key vendors to maximize the service and effectiveness for the Hospital.
Preparing and recommending department operating and capital budgets. Managing approved budget for area of responsibility.
Striving to improve processes and overall staff productivity. Recommends policies and procedures as needed.
Identifying and implements new technologies and new ways of doing things to reduce costs, improve performance, improve service or improve system availability.
Keeping abreast of research and development in the information systems industry through reading publications, attending appropriate conferences, and information exchanges with vendors and other healthcare providers.
In order to qualify you must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field
Eight years of relevant experience leading an IT service delivery organization managing multiple teams and demonstrated skill in commutating up, down and across the organization.
Proven ability leveraging a thorough technical expertise and experience designing, implementing, and managing technology solutions, including Compute, storage and virtualization.
Experience guiding technology teams in driving innovation in pursuit of improving business and clinical outcomes.
Demonstrate strategic thinking in defining emerging strategies to improve system uptime and limit unplanned interruptions.
Technical abilities should include developing a reliable metrics for measuring team performance while ensuring strategic capacity planning.
Proven ability identifying security vulnerabilities and a plan to eliminate them with strategic broad-based solutions that increase data safety.
Communication skills must include the ability to embrace input from others and present clearly to administrative and health care staff.
