SENIOR MANAGER, R&D RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Serve as a key resource and thought partner for the central resource management capabilities and solutions for R&D
Responsible for supporting the operational resource management activities as a part of R&D Center of Operational Performance (CoOP) team, to empower the Therapeutic Area (TAU), Business Unit (BU) and Drug Discovery Unit (DDU) to make sound resource decisions
Coordinate integrated resourcing processes including supply, demand, capacity to support long term portfolio objectives
Partner across TAUs, BUs and the teams’ line function representatives to 'pressure-test' assumptions, develop and refine functional algorithms, align on common practices and visualize resource/capacity management across the portfolio
Support data analytics and tool adoption and communications related to resource management
Manage initiatives related to resource management best practices and provide input regarding R&D strategy and portfolio gaps
Collaborate and partner across R&D driving productivity and efficiency efforts
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support operations and provide expertise with respect to resource management analytics, reviews, and decision-making across R&D
Support governance reviews and leadership decision makings on the portfolio level resourcing plan
Design visuals and insights for regular resource management reviews to optimize current resource allocations and lead future investment
Support the management and forecast of portfolio-level resource plan, including assumptions and constraints, in partnership with the TAUs, BUs, and Finance team members
Lead the maintenance, analytics and compliance tracking activities related to resource management tool(s)
Engage in cross-functional initiatives to drive continuous improvement of R&D resource management and support the growth and professional maturity of the R&D organization
Actively contribute to, and support activities and initiatives designed to advance CoOP goals and objectives
Provide central guidance in leading design and ongoing improvements of functional algorithms
Build strong, productive relationships with key partners
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Bachelors Degree
6-8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry preferred or a related industry with a focus on resource management
Proven track record of executing business process improvement and/or projects
Strong business analysis skills, proven meeting facilitation and documentation skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to share information effectively
Knowledgeable about the overall R&D portfolio and drug development milestones in order to be strategic in planning, progress oversight, communication, delivering high quality reporting and insights
Expertise in resource management in Pharma R&D organizations of similar size to Takeda
Strong ability to build relationships across R&D as a partner to TAUs, BUs, Finance, and other R&D central organizations
Strong mastery of data analytics, modeling and telling a story with data
Excellent communication and change adoption experience
This position is currently classified as "hybrid" in accordance with Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.

Base Salary Range: $125,000 to $178,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
