The Augmented Analytics team is looking to advance us on this journey by putting the power of statistical analysis and machine learning within reach of anyone with a question about their data.. We are looking for a creative and energetic engineering leader in the Boston area who would like to be a part of our mission.
- As the Senior Engineering Manager of Tableau’s Boston development site, you will be responsible for leading, growing and supporting the site’s engineering team, while spearheading the development of a groundbreaking analytics project. You will lead a team of top-tier engineers and work alongside product management and UX in a fast paced and iterative environment, delivering functional prototypes while planning and executing the team growth that will take the project from incubation to production. As part of this role you will be in a leadership position for Augmented Analytics, a critical pillar of Tableau’s product development strategy
Who you are…
Experienced. You have extensive software development and management experience, preferably in the analytics space. You have a track record of delivering innovative production quality software, and a passion for delivering delightful end user experiences. You are experienced with Agile development methods, modern DevOps practices and operational excellence practices for supporting live services.
Technical. You are well versed in modern UI frameworks such as React and Vue, and have a firm grasp on ML and Statistics including experience applying these technologies in the context of production software. You are comfortable with technical deep dives into complex multithreaded code, machine learning, networking, operating systems, infrastructure and storage.
Strong Communicator. You distill complex information down to the key elements and communicate effectively across disciplines and to various levels of an organization.
Customer-Focused. You have opinions about how users will use the product, and what problems they might run into. Being interested and willing to dive into and understand customers' problems is both helpful and rewarding.
Relentlessly High Standards. You are not satisfied by the status quo and inspire your team to continuously improve the quality of our code, systems and engineering practices. You ensure your team regularly delivers pragmatic solutions that drive towards a long-term architectural strategy.
