We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the Autodesk Platform and Component Services organization. Help us build Autodesk’s Forge platform to empower developers achieve the new possible. You will be part of Autodesk's platform engineering team responsible for designing and building critically important interoperability software components used in hero applications like AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit and 3DS Max. Design and implement reusable software components and APIs as part of an Agile team
Take ownership of the implementation of CAD data exchange software components and features, with high emphasis on quality and sound software engineering practices
Participate in software design reviews, conduct code reviews, and provide input and feedback to other members of the development team
Develop documents and diagrams to outline relationships between subsystems and participate in reviews of those designs
Cross-team collaboration and coordination with stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, available and scalable releases
Coach and mentor less experienced developers
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar experience
5+ years of hands-on Software engineering experience using Modern C++ Knowledge of good software architecture practices including design patterns, object-oriented programming practices, and complex software systems
Excellent programming skills developing cross platform desktop software
Experience working with third-party libraries, frameworks, and APIs
Proven team leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done
Professional work experience converting business requirements into a technical application and systems design
Ability to clearly communicate high level strategy and technical details effectively to various levels of business and technical audience
Experience with designing and developing robust and performant APIs, libraries and middleware components
Experience with security best practices for both modern cloud service and desktop applications
Familiarity with Continuous Integration pipelines
Experience building, packaging, installing, deploying, and repairing client platform applications
Familiarity with CAD or engineering applications
