Chewy Senior Technical Product Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager in Boston, MA. You will be a part of the Platform Engineering Tools team that builds tools and processes supporting our microservices platform, increasing productivity and efficiency across the software organization by improving our developer experience. This team aims to build tools, systems, and services that minimize engineering costs with security, quality, and scale as key pillars and accelerate development activities to keep pace with our rapidly growing teams across the Engineering organization.

As a Technical Product Manager on Platform Engineering Tools at Chewy, you will play a central role in developing our Tooling platform to enhance the developer experience. You will engage with engineering teams that rely on the tools, work with our users to identify gaps in our product offerings, and own the implementation strategy from measurement to delivery. You will translate/break down business requirements into technical specs for the tooling team. You will own product vision, roadmap, set deliverables, defining KPIs, and ensure they are met. You will evangelize the tooling platform, push for adoption and continually expand our portfolio.

What You\u0026#39;ll Do:

  • Work with Platform Engineering\u0026#39;s internal customers to ensure that their needs are identified, planned for, and met through the creation of themes/epics/stories, technical specifications, and well-defined success criteria

  • Work with engineering and development teams to resolve bottlenecks to help deliver systems and functionality which meet customer needs

  • Analyze customer needs across teams and projects, identifying commonalities and working with engineers to build tools that meet these common needs and use cases

  • Coordinate activities across different organizational functions for activities undertaken by Engineering and Tooling

  • Maintain product vision and roadmap, keeping stakeholders up to date on the deliverables and timelines

  • Evangelize tools built across engineering organization \u0026amp;nbsp;to ensure all available users can take advantage of it

  • Coordinate with business stakeholders and make sure the team is continuously delivering to the growing needs of the business

  • Review and report on progress for initiatives/projects, managing project risks - including the development of contingency plans

What You\u0026#39;ll Need:

  • Minimum of 7 years of Technical product/project management experience

  • Bachelor\u0026#39;s degree in Computer Science, Operations Management or Business Administration or equivalent experience

  • Technically savvy, including in-depth knowledge of public cloud, software development, and system integration

  • Experience with AWS Cloud technologies

  • Ability to architect high-level system plans (solution architecting)

  • Agile experience (Scrum Master, Product Owner), running sprints, stand-ups, and backlog

  • Ability to perform business requirements analysis and design

  • Ability to identify and mitigate development and implementation risks

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy

  • Willingness to travel (10%).

Bonus:

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

  • Knowledge of Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Bamboo, Confluence)

  • Experience with AWS Cloud technologies

  • Experience with other public cloud technologies (Azure, GCP)

  • Ecommerce experience
