Institute for Healthcare Improvement Senior Vice President, US in Boston, Massachusetts

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will be an experienced senior partner level healthcare leader with at least 10 years of progressive experience within a healthcare consulting environment and/or provider setting. A proven track record of business development is required, and practice building experience is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in quality improvement that ideally includes training and leading quality improvement initiatives. Qualified candidates will have a strong history of client network development and a stellar professional reputation as a recognized leader in the area of quality improvement, bringing executive level credibility and quickly inspiring trust, both externally with clients and internally with peers/colleagues. Outstanding communication, listening and interpersonal skills are of paramount importance. Other Key Position Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Track record of successful strategy development and execution in operations. Record of successfully engineering and crafting innovative solutions that meet customer needs. Ability and desire to travel domestically and internationally. Expertise leading data driven decision-making processes. Strong leadership, management, and relationship building skills. Ability to make difficult and challenging decisions that support strategic aims and long-term vision. Ability to work across boundaries, looking for collective success, listening, involving others, and respecting and learning from the contribution of others. Commitment to equity, anti-racism, and the improvement of societal systems. Extensive knowledge of healthcare operations within the United States. Proven ability to provide both leadership and management in an environment of complex relationships and operations. Understanding of the dynamics within a business arena and balance against the political environment. Proven ability to lead through influence, negotiation, and partnership. Skilled at building and maintaining relationships at all levels within the organization as well as externally with allies, current partners, and potential partners. Ability to work across boundaries, looking for collective success, listening, involving others, and respecting and learning from the contribution of others. Experience leading and managing all aspects of multiple large-scale complex projects and programs preferably within a healthcare system. Demonstrated ability to manage across a diverse portfolio of initiatives. Proven ability to take a large project or department from conception and vision to successful implementation. Expertise in mentoring and developing talent. Expertise leveraging data to support research and decision-making processes. Strong portfolio of work speaking at conferences, facilitating groups, and if necessary, handling media requests. Demonstrated deep personal commitment to equitable access to health and health care for all. Track record of successful strategy development and execution. Demonstrable expertise in the science of improvement; and ability to actively support, communicate, and teach the unique culture and values of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Commitment to equity, anti-racism, and the improvement of societal systems. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
