Boston Private Bank & Trust Company Senior Wealth Account Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts

Overview

Reporting to the Director, Operations the Senior Wealth Account Specialist will provide day-to-day ongoing operational support for the Wealth Management division of Boston Private. The Wealth Management business is an SEC Registered Investment Adviser providing comprehensive wealth management and investment advisory services to high-net worth individuals, families, foundations, and institutions. The Senior Wealth Account Specialist is responsible for onboarding new client relationship activities through managing operational tasks and supervising the work and daily activities within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established procedures to ensure proper account opening, account funding processing and paperwork generation as assigned

  • Liase with client directly to obtain all KYC and supporting documentation. Prepare and execute with client new account and initial funding paperwork.

  • Review new account forms for accuracy, with an eye to compliance and completeness

  • Provide training and act as a resource for more junior staff members on processes, procedures and systems.

  • Supervise work as needed; prioritize daily activities for team.

  • Act as an escalation point for questions and concerns of more junior operational staff and/or client facing staff.

  • Provide final quality control point for daily processing tasks.

  • Provide account information to client advisors and maintain tracking records within the CRM system

  • Interface with custodial partners to ensure accurate and timely processing of tasks as needed

  • Proactively resolve client facing staff’s operational issues and concerns

  • Take and process client instructions as provided by client facing staff

  • Provide support for audit request

  • Utilize software and programs necessary for execution of job duties; maintain up to date knowledge and adhere to all operational procedures

  • Clerical duties such as mailing, scanning, processing forms and filing; creation of spreadsheets and tracking documentation

  • Compliance with all industry rules and regulations and firm policies

  • Other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned

  • Ability to travel between offices. Less than 20% travel expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent work experience

  • 4+ years’ relevant experience in fund accounting, asset reconciliation, or cash reconciliation role within financial services and/or operations experience within an investment management firm

  • Strong computer skills and experience with software products such as Microsoft Office. Experience with custodial accounting platforms and CRM systems preferred

  • Proven problem solving ability exemplified by strong interpersonal and organizational skills
