Boston University SOFTWARE APPLICATION MANAGER, CARB-X in BOSTON, Massachusetts

CARB-X is seeking a talented software administrator to join our team at Boston University. CARB-X is a non-profit organization focused on accelerating the pre-clinical development of drugs, vaccines and diagnostics to address antibiotic resistance in superbugs. Since starting in mid-2016, CARB-X has awarded hundreds of millions of dollars, which makes it one of the largest and fastest growing public-private research partnerships in the world. Managing information is central to the mission of CARB-X. We are looking for an experienced Salesforce administrator to manage the platform that supports our application process, our portfolio of projects, invoices, and contact relationship management. CARB-X also uses box for document management, so experience as an administrator for this product would also be valuable. Experience managing other commercial, off-the-shelf Software (COTS), e.g. Tableau, Qualtrics, and Slack would be valuable.

Required Skills

As Software Application Manager, your capabilities and proficiencies will include:

  • Business acumen to quickly understand CARB-X processes and stakeholder needs.

  • Ability to get down into the details while also being able to see the broader operational opportunities to fully optimize CARB-Xs investment in Salesforce and box.

  • Exceptional communication (oral and written) skills.

  • Anticipate questions and exhibit ability to simplify messages for all spectrum of audiences.

  • Provide meaningful input that drives discussions to arrive at optimal decisions.

  • Orientation to documentation and controlled environment with checks and balances and dots connected.

  • Willingness to support critical activities for global stakeholders across time zones.

  • Adaptability and dependability.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience

  • 3-5 years of Salesforce Administration experience

Additional Capabilities and Proficiencies:

  • An excitement about CARB-Xs mission and the PMOs role within that mission (to enable the R&D, Operations and Leadership Teams to focus on their core contributions)

  • Salesforce Administrator certification preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce products and capabilities

  • Proficiency in creating Salesforce profiles, allocating roles, and managing access

  • Experience in project management

  • Experience in IT and organizational processes and ability to accurately document processes

  • Experience working in grants management a plus
