Amazon Web Services Software Development Manager, FSx in Boston, Massachusetts


Job summary

Amazon Web Services is looking for experienced engineering leaders to define and build new storage technologies and development teams for the FSx service. Amazon FSx is an AWS service that makes it easy for customers to launch, run and maintain filesystems in the cloud.

We are looking for a Software Development Manager to take a leadership role on this new and growing service. As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a team designing and building transformative new customer experiences on the Amazon FSx service. Delivering reliable and high-performance services and features at AWS scale requires technical leaders with extraordinary expertise and boundless creativity. You will interact with customers, understand our business goals, and innovate rapidly, delivering high-quality and ground-breaking functionality.

· 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams

· Experience partnering with product OR program management teams

· 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers

· 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems


· Strong Customer Focus

· Experience creating and driving a bold vision

· Experience recruiting, hiring, and managing a high performing team

· Passion for technical leadership and mentoring

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Effective analytical skills, with problem solving abilities in the face of ambiguity
