The Role: Software Engineering Manager - Machine Learning/Computer Vision

We are looking for a talented leader to help the team scale across multiple exciting projects by collaborating with product teams and leadership teams to establish, prioritize, and manage feature development. You will help lead a talented team of developers and ML researchers focused on making video collaboration an amazing experience and developing software that will be used by thousands of people every day.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop algorithms that can cinematically control cameras to intuitively frame a scene, provide close up shots when necessary, or pan out to show broader context, all without distracting from the content of the meeting. The goal being to make far-end participants feel as though they are in the room, actively participating in the meeting.

  • Collaborate with system architects, designers, and engineers to support the development of robust machine learning systems

  • Work with Product Management to prioritize feature development

  • Build roadmaps, engineering plans, and schedule estimates

  • Assess and recommend technology choices and directions in consideration of cost-benefit trade-offs

  • Collaborate with peer engineering teams, and program/product management to ensure that product requirements, goals and objectives are met or exceeded.

  • Operate strategically and tactically. Work on strategy and help set direction while staying on top of the day to day software development.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a Software Engineering Manager role

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development

  • Direct experience leading software projects and software engineers

  • BS or MS in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing teams that productize Computer Vision or AI/Machine Learning technologies

  • People management experience in multi-disciplinary global teams

  • Proven leadership of high performing teams at the intersection of tech and product

  • Leadership and interpersonal communication experience in working across many disciplines to drive best practices and mentor team members

  • Technical experience in leading people and projects in one or more of the technical domains of machine perception (ex: machine vision, deep learning, sensors or robotics)

  • Experience setting requirements and product trade offs working with a computer hardware product

  • Experience shipping computer vision technology into embedded hardware products.
