This Spec II, Applications Dev will be responsible for:
Implementation, configuration, validation, support, maintenance, integration, and end user training activities associated with the Laboratory Information System and Molecular LIMS.
Working with all levels of staff in the pathology department on technical support to workflow development.
Process Improvement for the pathology department, how to best integrate technology to improve patient care.
Installing and supporting laboratory related hardware (i.e., bar code scanners, document scanners, cassette printers, label printers, slidemates and IPS etchers) for all divisions. Validating functionality.
Troubleshooting and fixing problems with lab related hardware as referenced above.
Installing new software onto devices as needed and coordinates migration of data with end users.
Supporting Voicebrook/Dragon dictation system.
Training monthly rotating residents and fellows on pathnet.
Consulting with team members and the clinical community to match users’ needs to the capabilities of our software.
Taking the lead on issue resolution: This entails working with team members to identify a resolution, as well as working with vendors to diagnose issues and correct them.
Clearly articulating and presenting solutions to colleagues and customers in the user community.
Writing documentation and manuals for all new workflows.
To qualify, you must have:
The level of knowledge and skills typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
A background in Health Care Information Technology with demonstrated success.
2 years in a related field
Experience with SQL, CCL, python and other programming languages is preferred.
Experience with Pathnet, Clarity, CoPath, PowerPath or SoftPath is preferred.
The ability to manage relationships with a wide range of customers.
Strong communication skills.
