The problems are complex, and the solutions must be elegant. As a Sr. Bluetooth Software Engineer, you are a highly skilled specialist who will be responsible for all aspects of design and implementation of our Bluetooth SW platform and device drivers across our family of audio products.
You will be a technical expert on a team that is setting new standards for the audio industry and reshaping the way customers engage with music. You will innovate every day in our fast paced, creative company and help take Sonos into an even more remarkable future. You will work independently as well as with a team of industry leading innovators in other engineering fields such as Acoustics, ME, EE, RF, SW, and User Experience. Work with cross-functional teams in new Bluetooth enabled product introduction.
Participate in new Bluetooth radio SoC evaluation and selection.
Responsible for creating and managing product specific Bluetooth SW development plan.
Responsible for Bluetooth radio SoC bring-up and SW feature prototyping.
Responsible for embedded Bluetooth SW platform architecture design and implementation.
Interface with radio chip vendors to align and coordinate HW and SW issue investigation.
Develop, document, and execute unit and system integration test plans.
Contribute to embedded Bluetooth SW and HW validation and debugging.
Drive new technology adoption.
Champion continuous improvements of our team’s effectiveness and ability to innovate.

In-depth understanding of modern embedded SW development processes including design, implementation, unit testing, continuous integration, version control etc.
Demonstrable experience in developing performance critical SW in resource-constrained environment such as device drivers for high-speed peripherals on Linux and RTOS platforms.
Demonstrable knowledge in real time OS, or systems programming in general, including mutual exclusion, multithreading, concurrency, interrupt service, error handling, privileged-mode operations, etc.
Demonstrable experience in working with HW interfaces such as USB, SDIO, SPI, I2C etc.
Experience in using various debugging techniques including JTAG debuggers, logic/protocol analyzers, sniffers, and oscilloscopes.
Ability to comprehend EE schematics.
Expert knowledge in C/C++ programming language.
5+ years of relevant industry experience.
B.S. degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Solid understanding of Bluetooth fundamentals including Bluetooth Classic, Low Energy, and LE audio.
Experience with CPU-hosted and self-hosted Bluetooth stacks.
Experience with Bluetooth profiles such as A2DP, HFP, AVRCP and AVDTP.
Experience with over the air Bluetooth protocol and sniffer tools.
Knowledge of Bluetooth audio codecs such as AAC, SBC and LC3.
We consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications. This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants.
