Connected Device - IoT Sr Engineer - Platform Experience
Drive workforce transformation by testing, proving and implementing innovative connected technologies. The Connected Device (IoT & Mobile) Engineer is the hands-on implementor of the design that will secure new connected platforms. This position will understand the IoT and mobile device technical landscape and apply it to solve Thermo Fisher's business problems via collaboration across both technical and non-technical roles. The focus will be on building a secure, resilient infrastructure and support for IoT and immersive technologies. This position will work closely with vendors and internal Engineering and Architecture teams and be responsible for creating deliverables that implement and deploy IoT and mobile infrastructure solutions. The end goal is to enable business strategic technologies for internal use and deliver targeted business outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Test new connected devices to prove out their abilities and limitations regarding configuration, security and efficacy.
Apply the connected device strategy to securely configure, manage, inventory and deploy new connected platforms to enable business strategic technologies for internal use.
Contribute to the overall unified platform modern management strategy and roadmap focusing on all connected devices.
Consume business requirements and technology standards and translate them into technical implementation blueprints.
Interact with IT and business units across the enterprise to analyze, interpret, and document connected device technical and operational requirements.
Provide input into the development of operations processes for connected devices and services.
Develop and maintain processes to test & integrate new endpoint software and hardware enhancements.
Tier 3&4 SME level operations support & guidance for high impact issues and major incidents.
Collaboration with technical and non-technical teams, including conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Responsible for implementing cybersecurity policy specifically related to connected devices.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
7+ years of IT related experience demonstrating an increasing progression of responsibilities including work in systems implementation, configuration management, technology selection, and change management.
Expert in the following functions of IT: Connected device management, operating systems, mobility, enterprise systems management, asset management, connected device system security and best practices.
Expertise in Endpoint management supporting technologies including, Win 10 Modern Desktop, MobileIron Cloud, VMware Workspace One, Microsoft Intune, O365, etc.
Strong experience in designing, configuring, deploying, using, and supporting connected devices and applications.
Experience implementing connected devices using available cybersecurity policy and technical implementation guidelines.
Experience in network management and network security technologies used by connected devices, including the use of network gateways to isolate specific sets of connected devices.
Experience with short and long term Communications methods such as (LORA, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LTE, etc)
Experience in reviewing/assessing connected devices and developing security implementation guides for them.
Possess strong task management and communication skills.
Proven success and demonstrable ability to effectively communicate with decision makers of all levels, including technology and business leaders.
Broad and deep expertise of the connected device technology industry, providers and design practices.
Experience developing technical implementation guidelines and development/programming guidelines for connected devices.
Experience assessing, prioritizing and communicating risk related to connected devices and related technologies.
Experience integrating numerous enterprise platform technology systems
Experience working in large enterprise and regulated environments.
Expertise with Windows 10, HoloLens, Windows ARM / UWP, macOS 10.x, IoT (Linux / Android), iOS, Android preferred.
Previous development/programming experience preferred.
Experience in a penetration test team or 'red team' environment where connected devices were compromised preferred.
Experience with ITIL/Enterprise ticketing system preferred

Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
Participates in responding to alerts from our Command Center or Major Incident Managers for issues within their scope
Some travel may be required.
