VMware Sr. Federal Program Manager of Product Level Compliance - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Boston, Massachusetts

The VMware End User Computing (EUC) Cloud Security and Compliance Team is seeking a Federal Program Manager of Product Level Compliance. Our team is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver compliance certifications and drive security strategy for VMware’s EUC products and cloud services, which are critical to meet the high security and compliance standards of our global customers.

As a Federal Program Manager for End User Computing Division, you will plan and deliver product level compliance certifications in partnership with Engineering, Product, Compliance, Security, and Sales teams. We are looking for someone to:

  • Drive technical, operational and go-to-market readiness for VMware EUC service and R&D teams to achieve product certifications on schedule

  • Enable VMware EUC product teams to efficiently conduct technical gap assessment, operational process implementation, documentation, and audit readiness activities

  • Build solid, integrated master program plans (schedule, dependencies, risks, etc.) in collaboration with VMware EUC stakeholder teams

  • Proactively identify risks, issues and drive their resolution

  • Report on your programs to executive stakeholders. Be the trusted speaker on the state of your programs in key checkpoint reviews

  • Advocate for process best practices, high quality standards and innovation with your delivery team

  • Develop a working knowledge of the operational processes and controls for relevant regulatory compliance schemes and track changes to certification process structures

  • Manage vendors and any related procurement processes

  • Collect and detail technical architecture, operational processes and security policies from multiple internal engineering teams

  • Be the single point of contact for all things Common Criteria, FIPS, CSFC, and DISA STIG related for the VMware End User Computing Division

  • Properly identify, remediate, communicate, or escalate technical and program risks

  • Aid the stakeholders in managing technical and program changes

  • Gather and report both program and technical metrics so that stakeholders can make business decisions including stakeholder feedback

  • Own the success or failure of the program

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills :

  • 7+ years of experience in project/program management

  • 7+ years of experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships across large organizations.

  • Experience with Common Criteria, NIAP, CSFC, FIPS, NIST, and DoD certifications and testing schemes

  • Experience at a technology/software firm, systems integrator, US Government agency, or security/compliance consulting firm

  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Exceptional skills influencing, teaming, and delivering solutions in a highly complex environment.

  • Ability to conceive of and accept responsibility for projects and see them through to completion.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently in as fast paced environment and drive change across VMware service teams.

  • Leadership and communication skills to lead various teams through complex tasks

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with project/program management tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Microsoft Project)

  • Considerable experience using enterprise productivity tools such as JIRA and Confluence

  • Working knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for software applications, Agile and ITIL development schemes, and Plan of Record product release tracking

  • Technical knowledge of software security functions such as Authentication, Authorization, Encryption both at rest and in-transit, and data mapping in relation to information security

  • Bachelors / Master’s Degree with a focus in Information Technology / Computer Science or related field

  • Experience developing, editing, and revising documentation including as-built documents, system security plans, system architectures, and policies and procedures.
