Wellforce Sr. HIS, IT Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts

The Sr. HIS/IT Analyst is specific responsibility is to enable successful use and provide analytical support of the HIS application for Tufts Medical Center Community Care (TMCCC) practice, support staff and providers. The Sr. Analyst will work within the TMCCC team governance structures to assist in the deployment of the HIS application across TMCCC practices. This person will need to support the various HIS needs of providers and staff throughout the organization. These functions are coordinated with the Program Manager and Regional Manager, Clinical Staff, Coding Manager and staff, and others and are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Tufts Medical Center Community Care’s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.


  • Analyze specific user needs and requirements in the integration and data entry of clinical, demographic, and billing data. Assisting with providing clear solutions and workflows to increase system optimization.

  • Support TMCCC practices in their continued adoption and utilization of the HIS

  • Providing HIS training to new hires, including Providers.

  • Act as support escalation point to TMCCC practices.

  • Possible urgent onsite deployment to a system down practice.

  • Act as and/or support the project manager for HIS related implementations and support related activities

  • Experience and/or understanding of Meaningful Use program. Ability to successfully train, track and complete a provider attestation.

  • Successful implementation and deployment of the Patient Portal.

  • Successful implementation and deployment of eHX (electronic Health Exchange).

  • Successful implementation and deployment of P2P (Point-to-Point).

  • Various data integrations.

  • Offsite planning and onsite assistance with version upgrades.

  • Provide workflow enhancements and oversight, including TMCCC-specific / best-practice workflow training, including proper coding and documentation techniques

  • Content owner of ongoing projects/programs that the HIS team has initiated.

  • Responsible for the continuation of program directives, aligning projects or implementations with leadership’s direction.

  • Execute project work plan and assist client team members to meet goals.

  • Work with HIS Team and Advisory Groups to develop standards for structured data so that P4P requirements, HEDIS measures, or other performance measures yet to be defined can be measured after implementation and reporting across the enterprise can be done effectively.

  • Work as the member of a larger team including practice consultants working on the HIS implementation across the enterprise.

  • Deliver excellent customer service to all client interactions and projects.

  • Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working group’s achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment.

  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

  • Orients newly hired members of the team to the HIS Analyst positions.

  • Meets on a frequent basis with other HIS Analysts and Team Lead to discuss status of practices, arising issues, and provides resolution guidance.

  • Takes the lead on identification of issues and analyzes for possible issue themes or issue consistencies.

  • Ability to take on new projects and guide to completion with little direction.

  • Ability to assist with TMCC-wide presentations/communications on various HIS topics.

  • Suggests new projects and ideas to Program Manager to help improve support processes


  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Business or related discipline preferred

  • 2 or more years of progressive experience in similar healthcare environment.

  • Strong understanding of EMR/HIS software and /or physician practice management applications required. This should be combined with a strong understanding of physician practice operations including charge capture and clinical documentation.

  • Proven Project Management skills with the ability to take a project from inception to completion.

  • Ability to identify Project blockers, escalating when necessary and proposing appropriate solutions.

  • Prior work experience/skills/knowledge that adds to the overall knowledge of the team.

  • Outstanding listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work and communicate with providers and practice staff.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment, effective time management skills, logical problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand importance of and respect for the confidentiality of patient and provider information in accordance with applicable contractual obligations, standards and regulations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot applications issues and products as required.

  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Experience with and enjoyment of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Strong customer service orientation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio and Word.

  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and own transportation for travel to network sites, as needed, is required.
