Edwards Lifesciences Sr. Manager, Data Products and Services - REMOTE in Boston, Massachusetts

Oversee the disciplined execution and adoption of the data management framework working closely with business data stewards and stakeholders to ensure data management initiatives and sustaining processes are aligned with the strategic business objectives of the corporation

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the work of data management activities and may have financial budget responsibilities. Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department.

• Plan and direct complex activities with large scale or significant business impact with the accountability for successful completion of all deliverables . Lead in identifying risk, developing mitigation strategies, alternative solutions, resolving issues in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix teams

• Establish and lead the implementation of standard methodologies for the data components of IT and Business Projects in partnership with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT Architecture) to ensure the alignment of the IT support systems to Business Data requirements

• Identify risk, develop and lead in the implementation of broad and more complex data management strategies and data quality measurement initiatives which may include negotiations with internal and external parties. Lead the development of recommendations for data programs and initiatives

• Define data validation, verification, and reconciliation strategy to support data governance, stewardship, permissible use and security.

Responsible for establishing global consistency for data definitions, taxonomies, business rules and standards with operational business data stewards that improve data quality, data integration and self-service analytics

• Lead the approval and publication of the Corporate Data Policy and supporting guidelines, standards and procedures

• Provide data management insights into regional business needs and challenges to key stakeholders across Business Units and Functions

• Other incidental duties

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in in a technical field required (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) Required

Master's Degree or equivalent Preferred

Additional Skills:

• Demonstrated track record in people management required

• Experience working in a regulated industry preferred

• Experience with core data management competencies (e.g., DQ, MDM, Governance, Analytics, Data Modelling)

• Proven successful project management leadership skills including experience implementing more than 2 projects implementing domain governance (e.g., Customer, Patient, Provider, Product, Employee, Clinical Trails, Supplier)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems; Demonstrated mastery over multiple technical tools and platforms used in data management implementations (Informatica IDQ & MDM, Collibra, Reltio MDM, Talend, SAP) simplifying and automating key activities.

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

• Expert understanding of IT procedures while addressing issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines

• Expert understanding of related aspects of data management processes and/or systems

• Knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to data management

• Demonstrated ability to manage assigned team and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations

• Strict attention to detail

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

• Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of data management to the business

• Ability to frequently interacts with internal and external management and senior-level stakeholders concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications

• Ability to provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions

The base pay range for this position is$148,000 to $173,000
