Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Project Manager - HR Technology Services - WORKDAY is a Must in Boston, Massachusetts

The Sr. Project Manager – HR Technology Services (HRTS) role is an important role within the HRTS organization at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This individual will be a key member of the HRTS team, leading projects of all sizes in support of HR and IT’s priorities and goals.

Working closely with a diverse set of partners, you will implement, support, maintain and improve HR systems in line with strategic business and IT roadmaps!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead sophisticated, multi-functional Technology projects from initiation through delivery.

  • Partner with HR, IT and other partners (including vendor partners) to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in scope.

  • Lead day-to-day program activities and related meetings, including core team and external partners

  • Own the development of business requirements, solution design & delivery, testing and training

  • Maintain extensive knowledge and expertise in HR process, HR data and HR systems

  • Build domain expertise and institutional knowledge of key Thermo Fisher HR systems and how they interact/talk to other parts of the business

  • Ensure project targets are met by actively running projects through appropriate resource, issue, and risk management

  • Handle prioritization decisions and change requests throughout the life of the program.

  • Identify, assess and mitigate program risks. Develop and provide remediation plans if needed

  • Communicate key risks and issues to management and sponsors at all levels of the organization, and complete risk mitigation and remediation activities

  • Assemble and report project status using IT PPM tools and IT project management framework standards

  • Develop standard methodologies and tools for project execution and management

  • Cultivate critical supplier and internal customer relationships

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Business Management, Project Management or Management Information Systems (Masters' Degree preferred) or relevant work experience.

  • demonstrated ability managing projects/programs within the HR Technology domain within a global, matrixed organization (5+ years)

  • Experience running programs across geographical regions, functional teams, and applications

  • Strong domain expertise in HR process, data and systems (e.g. Workday, Successfactors LMS, Kenexa, ServiceNow HRSD, etc.)

  • Strong tactical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong planning coordination, mediation and leadership skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, executives, managers, and domain authorities

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Solid experience with Workday (HCM, Recruiting, Time and Absence, Comp/Advanced Comp, Talent, Staffing, etc.)

  • Demonstrable knowledge in the following disciplines: core HR, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, talent management, payroll, time & attendance

  • Experience leading M&A integration programs cutting across HR and other business technologies

  • HR system implementation experience for HCM, ATS, HR Service Delivery, and Learning solutions.

  • PMP certification a plus

  • Knowledge of existing solutions, new technologies and emerging trends.
