This role is responsible for managing projects for the Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) within the Specialty Diagnostics Group (SDG.)

The role will leverage project management and team leadership skills to help drive projects through inception, implementation, and completion. The role must have the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, requires strong communication and leadership skills, coupled with extensive project management experience.

The role further entails actively managing the timely communications of project status to customers, internal stakeholders and participating in scheduled partner business meetings providing status updates.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, directs and is responsible for delivery of complex, cross-functional projects and/or programs

  • Manages programs through cross-functional teams, creating work breakdown and financial analyses to develop cost, schedule and resources plans

  • Leads projects of complex scope (may be cross functional or involve multiple teams); works on complex issues and is guided by expected outcomes; acts as an advisor/coach to mentor other team members

  • Develops solutions and execution strategies in complicated or novel situations

  • Networks outside of area of expertise; provides advice to ensure understanding of non-technical matters

  • Provides clear, concise information and reports to all levels of the program team

  • Resolves conflicts and negotiates difficult or sensitive issues

  • Impacts the business by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services to others in area of specialization

  • Deliverables contribute to overall success including program timeline, budget, scope, customer expectations, functional area operations, revenue

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of business/technical/capability presentations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Life Science related degree preferred

  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office

  • 6+ years of combined product development and project management experience with a preference for instrument and software experience

  • Proven track record of delivering project outcomes consistent with committed timelines, budget and specification

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Outstanding organizational, planning, process development, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to self-manage and motivate

  • Astute attention to detail and accuracy

  • PMP certified

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Advanced project management skills are essential

  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as project management software tools

  • Excellent relationship building and persuasion skills with the ability to motivate and influence others without direct authority

  • Ability to quickly evaluate situations and take direct appropriate actions to resolve issues

  • Detail oriented and assertive self-starter who can operate effectively in a constantly changing environment

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills: well developed verbal skills to successfully communicate to a variety of internal and external audiences, while counselling, negotiating and formally presenting views and/or technical criteria
